Montre
Watch
The present invention relates to a watch sui
before the main patent claim, i.e.
a watch whose movement is held in place
in the box using a casing frame having an outer annular projection, of flexible and compressible material, interposed between two elements of the box, between which it acts as a seal and allows the frame to playing that of a shock absorber, this casing frame having a second annular, internal projection on which the movement bears, this second annular projection being offset axially with respect to the first.
The watch according to the invention is characterized by the fact that an annular groove, in which an element of the movement is engaged, is provided in said second annular projection of the casing frame.
It should be noted that watches are known provided with an enlarging circle serving to maintain the movement and having, on their face facing the movement, an annular groove in which the thread of the movement plate is engaged. However, in these embodiments, the casing ring is rigid, so that it must be split to allow the insertion, in its groove, of the thread of the plate, which has various drawbacks: such a split ring cannot in any case not constitute a seal as in this arrangement.
Watches are also known in which the edge of the dial is engaged in a recess in the casing frame, either that the latter is thin enough to be deformable for the purpose of the introduction of the edge of the dial, or that the latter s' engages on the notch in a beat of the casing frame.
In all of the embodiments described above, the groove of the casing frame into which an element of the movement engages is however not provided in an internal projection of the casing frame offset by
compared to an external projection serving for its attachment to the box, so that in these executions, the advantages of the present construction residing in the fact of a better suspension, and consequently a better protection, are not found. against the shocks of movement.
The drawing represents, by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 to 3 are partial axial sections of three embodiments of wristwatches.
In these three embodiments, identical elements have been designated by the same reference signs.
In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the watch shown comprises a movement 1 housed in a case comprising a caseband-bezel 2, a crystal 3, provided with an inner reinforcing ring 4, forming a flange, and a back 5 screwed at 6 into the caseband-bezel.
The movement is held in place in the case by means of a casing frame 7, made of flexible and compressible material, elastically deformable, having an outer annular projection 7a interposed between a rim 5a of the back 5 and the caseband-bezel 2 and which constitutes a seal. This casing frame 7 has an internal annular projection 7b in which an annular groove 8 is formed, opening laterally inward, in which the thread 9 of the movement plate 1 is engaged.
The movement is thus suspended, by the net 9 of its plate, in the box, the casing frame 7 playing both the role of shock absorber and, by its outer projection 7a, of sealing.
As a variant, one could foresee the case where the movement would be suspended in the case by its dial which would engage, by its periphery, in the annular groove 8 formed in the internal projection 7b of the casing frame 7.
The embodiment of FIG. 2 differs from the first in that the casing frame, designated by 10, also made of flexible and compressible material, elastically deformable, has, in addition to its external projections designated by 10a and interior designated by 10b, in a groove of which is engaged the thread 9 of the plate, an axial extension 10c in which is formed an annular groove 11, opening inwards, in which is engaged the dial, designated by 12, of the movement 1.
The result is that the dial is thus held in place on the movement without its feet having to be fixed to the latter. We could, if necessary, remove the feet of dial 12 and replace them by any means preventing the latter from rotating relative to the box.
In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the casing frame 7, identical to that of the first embodiment, is surmounted by a ring 13 having an annular groove 14, opening laterally inward, in which the dial 12 of the movement 1 is engaged. The ring 13 can simply be interposed between the flange 4 and the casing frame 7, or else be fixed to the latter, for example by gluing, as is the case in the embodiment described and shown, or again by notching, for example.
