  <B>Zusatzpatent.</B> zum     Hauptpatent    Nr. 220744.    Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Derivats der     technischen        Stearinhydroxamsäure.       Es wurde     gefunden,    dass man zu einem  neuen Derivat der technischen     Stearinhydro-          xamsäure    gelangt, wenn man technische     Stea-          rinhydroxamsäure    mit einer den Säurerest

  Die Umsetzung     wird    zweckmässig bei er  höhter Temperatur, z. B.<B>700,</B> vorteilhaft in  Gegenwart eines säurebindenden Mittels, wie       Pyridin,    vorgenommen.    Das neue Derivat der technischen     Stearin-          hydroxamsäure    ist ein schwach gelb gefärbtes  Pulver, das in Wasser und in verdünnten       wässrigen        Alkalien    löslich ist. Es kann als       Textilhilfsstoff,    z. B.     zum    waschechten Wasser  abstossendmachen von Fasermaterialien, ver  wendet werden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  13 Gewichtsteile     Benzoesäure-m-sulfochlo-          rid    werden mit     100        Gewichtsteilen        Pyridin     bei<B>70"</B> während einer     hälben    Stunde ver  rührt. Nach dem Abkühlen auf 5   werden  14 Gewichtsteile einer     technischen    Stearin  hydroxamsäure zugegeben. Nach dem Weiter  rühren während einigen     Stunden    bei Raum  temperatur     wird    das Gemisch kurze Zeit auf  30   erwärmt, wobei eine klare, fast farblose  Lösung entsteht.

   Diese     wird    in eine     Mischung     aus 85 Gewichtsteilen     konzentrierter        Salz-          säure    (D -1,19), 50 Gewichtsteilen gesät  tigter Kochsalzlösung und 150     Gewichtsteilen     Eis unter Rühren ausgegossen. Der etwas  schmierige Niederschlag wird nach einiger  Zeit     abfiltriert,    zweimal mit 1     %iger    Salz-           säure    und dann mit Wasser gewaschen, bis  das Waschwasser kongoneutral ist.

   Nach dem  Trocknen bei 40' im Vakuum wird das neue  Produkt als schwach gelb gefärbtes Pulver  erhalten, das sich gut pulverisieren lässt und  in Wasser und in verdünnten     wässrigen        Al-          kalien    löslich ist.
