Device on the vehicle for displaying the state of motion of the same. The invention relates to a device on a vehicle, in particular a bicycle, for displaying the state of motion of the same, with a signal device on a fender, in which a slider provided with several different colored parts provides the signals is set depending on the state of motion of the vehicle.
The invention consists in the fact that the slider is adjusted by means of a Bowden cable which is connected to a slip ring located on one side of the coaster brake hub of the vehicle next to the chain wheel, so that when the pedals move forwards or backwards through the movable Slider of the signaling device of the driving, speed reduction or stopping state of the vehicle is displayed.
The drawing shows exemplary embodiments of the invention in which the signaling device is arranged in the mudguard of a bicycle (rear fender), with only those parts being reproduced that are absolutely necessary to make the display device understandable.
They show: Fig. 1 the signal device with electrical shear lamp arrangement embedded in the fender of a bicycle, in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 the control device belonging to the display device with Bowden cable and slip ring on the side of the brake hub of a bicycle viewed from the side, Fig. 3 the same Control device in front view, Fig. 4 the signal device in cross section along the line AB of Fig. 1, half in view,
5 shows the signal device in the fender seen from above, partially in section, FIG. 6 shows a schematic representation of the visible signals within the viewing area in the three different display positions, FIG. 7 shows a further embodiment of the signal device when using retro-reflective Flat lenses on the slide in longitudinal section without the use of electrical lighting, FIG. 8 a schematic representation of automatic circuit switching by the sliding slide from dynamo supply while driving to battery supply when the bicycle is stationary, FIG.
9 is a diagrammatic representation of the signal device in the form of a device that can be pushed onto the fender.
At a suitable height from the roadway, a round, oval or angular recess n, closed with a transparent, unbreakable, colorless protective disk f ge, of any size, is attached, behind which a flat slide e easily glides into the slightly recessed fender floor b is embedded. The slide e is appropriately made of colored, but transparent material, for. B. made of glass, cellulose film or the like and made half of each in two different basic colors, in the normal driving position, the driving position indicating the colored area of the flat slide e is exactly behind the opening n of the fender a, while the driving decrease and the stop indicating Color surface remains invisible.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, 2 and 3, the flat slide e is automatically moved when the vehicle moves through the cable k of a Bowden train i in the fender bed b, by means of the slip ring o placed on the side of the sprocket w (Fig. 2 and 3) , at the open ends r and z a rule screw s is provided, the cable end of the Bowden cable k is articulated in a suitable bore of the slip ring end r be fastened.
The signal device, that is to say the slide position, is shown in the figures in the holding position of the bicycle. When stepping forward on the pedals, the cable k, as shown in FIG. 2, is pulled out in the direction of arrow II to the right from the cable sleeve i, the end of which is immovably fastened to the fender strut h, as the one on the threaded collar of the sprocket w The slip ring that is placed on top and secured against slipping sideways by the brake hub ring y immediately rotates in the direction of travel, as long as the stroke of the pulled out cable end k allows it. In this position, the slip ring will stop rotating forwards even if the chain wheel continues to rotate.
As a result, the flat slide e remains in its normal hochgezo genen position by tightening the other cable end k attached to it during the rotary movement of the sprocket w and shows the display #Fahrt "through the viewing hole n, even when the brake hub is in free-wheeling position and the Sprocket u # enters. L:
m to enable that, in the event of a slight, unintentional resignation or a slight resignation for the purpose of reducing the driving speed only slightly, the flat slide e does not change its display position immediately, i.e. H. see moves, but maintains its display "drive", the upper cable end k, as Fig. A shows, in a longitudinal slot nt of the flat slide e slidably attached.
It is through this arrangement he is sufficient that a certain length corresponding to the length of the slot ineffective stroke of the cable k can occur during movement of the slip ring o, which remains without affecting the display position of the flat slide e.
If the retraction movement is continued to achieve even slower travel, i.e. more braked, the slip ring o rotates in the direction of the arrow I Wig. 2) back a little, and the cable k pushes the flat slide e back, to the extent that the two differently colored display surfaces are half visible in the viewing hole, which means that "reduced speed" is a warning signal. Pre-indication of the stop is given (Fig. 6).
In the event of a complete backward movement to hold the bicycle, the flat slide e is brought completely into its lowest stop position, with only the display area #Halt "then being visible.
However, if the vehicle is started again by stepping forward, the cable k moves to the right (arrow direction II, Fig. 2), influenced by the slip ring o rotating forwards again, and immediately pulls the flat slide e back up into its normal driving display position , with which the display #drive "is given.
The entire signaling device is adapted to the shape of the fender a of the vehicle in a continuously flat design and is sealed on all sides against the ingress of water and dirt. The Bowden cable sleeve i also opens tightly to the upper face of the fender base b, and is appropriately protected in a hollow strut h of the fender a up to the slip ring o, whereby the free transition of the cable from the end the cable sleeve up to the suspension at the slip ring end r can be covered by means of a flexible protective sheath u (coil spring or rubber hose) (Fug. 2).
As FIGS. 1, 4 and 5 show, the lamp y is clamped in a further indented impression c of the fender a in a known manner between two contact springs. The power is supplied by connecting a cable from the vehicle's alternator to the cable screw l.
In order to prevent the rear light lamp from going out when the vehicle comes to a standstill and the associated drying up of the power source of the dynamo alternator on bicycles, an automatic switchover from dynamo to battery is advantageously provided, as shown in FIG the bottom recess b two separate busbars 5 and 6 are stored, over which the display flat slide e slides and by means of the contact spring 7 sweeps the busbar 5 when driving and the busbar 6 when the stop position is reached, so that automatically a switchover from the alternator to the battery is achieved is.
The signaling device is covered by a cover d, which is adapted to the shape of the fender, can be pressed and removed by means of rotatable bolts 10 (Fig. 5), and a sealing ring 11 is placed underneath, and is also secured from above against the ingress of dirt or water. The electric lamp g can easily be replaced after removing the cover d. The mentioned, closed with the disk f opening n is attached to this cover d.
In FIG. 6, the display areas resulting from the various changes in travel or standstill are shown in the viewing hole n. It is of particular advantage over the known travel and stop signals that the display device always only shows a single state of motion, namely either normal travel, reduced travel or stopping.
As FIG. 7 shows, two differently colored retro-reflective lenses 2 and 3 can also be inserted on a flat slide 1. In this embodiment, the automatic setting as well as the arrangement of the entire display device remains the same as in the electrical lamp arrangement of the signal device described above.
Instead of the, for example, flat ausgebil Deten displaceable slide e, the different colored display surfaces (reflective lenses or translucent colored surfaces) can be designed in spherical or cylindrical shape with the same good effect, with the slide then representing a display ball or display roller also by the automatic cable adjustment - Or rotated backwards behind the display eye immediately shows the driving or stopping state of the vehicle.
In order to also give the possibility of attaching the new display device to vehicles already in traffic, the signaling device, as schematically shown in FIG. 9, is designed as a finished component 9 that can be attached or screwed onto the fender a can be brought by lay hands.
For this reason, the slip ring o is made in two parts so that it can be easily placed without taking out the wheel.
