Ring-blade saw for cutting wood. The present invention relates to a saw with an annular blade for cutting wood.
This saw is characterized in that the wool is centered on an inner circle and driven by two conical rollers each mounted on an oscillating lever arm and each applied to one face of the blade, a spring being provided to apply these rollers to the blade , these rollers being driven by means of a motor provided with a clutch.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the saw according to the invention.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3, are elevation, profile and plan views of the control device of the annular blade, which is partially shown in these figures; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of this embodiment of the saw.
The saw shown comprises a toothed annular saw blade 1, centered internally on a circle 2 of the same thickness. To obtain good guidance, the saw blade 1 has its rounded internal edge to match the profile of a groove in the edge of the circle 2. The latter comprises a removable part fixed by adjustable screws, in order to allow assembly. saw blade and take up the play caused by wear.
On each face of the blade 1 is applied a conical roller 3; whose axis 4 is supported by an oscillating lever â. These levers are mounted idle on shafts 7 and a spring 6 recalls the rollers 3 towards one another so as to wedge the blade between them. The shafts 7 drive the axes 4 of the rollers 3 via toothed pinions 8 and 9.
Only one of the shafts 7 is a motor and drives the other shaft 7 via the two pinions 8 which mesh with each other.
Under the action of this command, the two conical rollers 3 turn in the opposite direction and as they are pressed by the spring 6 against the annular blade 1, they drive the latter and impart to it a rotational movement on its internal circle 2 .
As shown in fig. 4, the blade 1 is protected by a housing 10 and one of the shafts 7 is driven by means of a clutch 11 by a motor 12. The entire mechanism is supported by a frame 13 mounted on two wheels 14 .
The housing 10 carries at the front a handle 15 which allows the saw blade to be lowered as the cutting progresses. The clutch allows the saw blade to rotate or stop when not in use at will.
A notch in the upper part of the housing 10 allows the blade to be sharpened without having to dismantle it.
