b) derrière la bielle d'actionnement de la lame horizontale est disposé un tapis roulant incliné sur l'horizontale et entraîné, dans le sens transversal au châssis, par un rouleau commandé à partir du moteur ;
c) ledit rouleau est entraîné à son extrémité supérieure au moyen de pignons d'angle dont l'un est porté par un arbre incliné qui reçoit son mouvement, également au moyen de pignons d'angle, d'un arbre horizontal per pendiculaire à l'arbre de commande de la lame horizontale et entraîné par celui-ci au moyen d'une vis et d'une roue tangente ;
d) l'arbre horizontal précité commande le rouleau moteur de la chenille ;
e) la lame verticale est supportée par un châssis auxiliaire triangulaire fixe ou pouvant être monté pivotant sur un axe horizontal supérieur supporté par le châssis principal parallèlement à l'arbre de commande de cette lame ;
Machine for trimming hedges and shrub curtains.
The present invention relates to a machine intended for trimming thorn or shrub hedges bordering railroad tracks, pares, castles, pastures and, in general, any fence of live hedges.
The machine according to the invention is characterized essentially by a horizontal frame provided with a caterpillar traction system controlled by a motor and intended to rest on the top of the hedge, this motor also controlling, with a reciprocating movement, a Mower blade arranged horizontally at the front of the frame.
The machine can be provided, at the front, with means for removing the cuttings produced by the blade.
Finally, this machine can also include a second cutting blade arranged vertically along one of the sides of the frame, and controlled by the same motor as the first.
In another embodiment, the machine may have the following features:
a) the engine controls, by two transmissions, two shafts parallel to the longitudinal sides of the frame, which each carry a crank plate which, by means of a connecting rod, drives the corresponding blade.
b) behind the operating rod of the horizontal blade is disposed a conveyor belt inclined to the horizontal and driven, in the direction transverse to the frame, by a roller controlled from the motor;
c) said roller is driven at its upper end by means of angle gears, one of which is carried by an inclined shaft which receives its movement, also by means of angle gears, from a horizontal shaft per pendicular to the horizontal blade control shaft and driven by it by means of a screw and a tangent wheel;
d) the aforementioned horizontal shaft controls the driving roller of the caterpillar;
e) the vertical blade is supported by a triangular auxiliary frame that is fixed or can be mounted to pivot on an upper horizontal axis supported by the main frame parallel to the control shaft of this blade;
f) the actuating rod, of the horizontal blade working on the top of the hedge, is provided with saw teeth or the like suitable for hooking the cuttings.
In an alternative embodiment, said connecting rod is cylindrical and surrounded by a rotating mandrel with multiple sides or with paddles, of which it constitutes the axis of rotation, this mandrel rotating in a direction such that it lifts the cuttings and rejects them on the conveyor belt behind him.
Preferably, this mandrel is provided at the end, for its driving in rotation, with a pinion which rolls on a bevel wheel concentric with the crank pin of the crank plate controlling the connecting rod.
The accompanying drawings show, schematically, by way of examples, various embodiments of the machine object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation view, from the left side in relation to the direction of travel, ¯
fig. 2, a view from the right side, the vertical blade and its support frame not being shown,
fig. 3, a front view,
fig. 4, a plan view.
Fig. 5 is a partial front view of a variant of the machine.
As seen in these drawings, the machine comprises a metal frame 1, provided, at the front, with a blade 2, presenting in the manner of a mower blade, cutting sections sliding with a movement alternative on a counter-blade 3, which has rigid fingers serving as a support for the mobile blade and is provided with an upper guide 4.
This frame 1 is provided with a traction system 5, of the crawler type by which it is supported and it advances on top of the hedge.
The whole of the caterpillar is mounted on a frame, inside the chassis, capable of pivoting about the axis of the controlled roller, 6, to allow the machine to be adjusted horizontally. The roller 6 is controlled from a motor 7, for example an explosion engine, supported by the frame 1.
This engine is provided with a starting device and a clutch E by which it can be secured to the shaft of a driving pulley 8, or detached at will to free the machine from any movement if necessary. .
The pulley 8 drives by means of belts, preferably trapezoidal, two other pulleys 9 and 10 mounted on two horizontal rate shafts 11 and 12 parallel to the longitudinal sides of the frame.
The shaft 11 carries a crank plate 13 which, by means of a connecting rod 14, controls the movable blade 2, in a rapid reciprocating movement. This connecting rod is provided with saw teeth, or the like, which are intended to help the ejector - which will be discussed - to get rid of the cuttings, by pushing them back to the base thereof, with a movement alternative, from bottom to top and from right to left, in relation to the direction of advance of the machine.
The ejector 15, placed behind said connecting rod, comprises a conveyor belt, inclined and provided with blades, which moves transversely with respect to the frame, being driven by a roller 16, the shaft of which is driven, by means of Bevel gears 17,18, by another inclined shaft 19. This is controlled by bevel gears 20,21 from a horizontal shaft 22 which is driven, by the shaft 11, by means of 'a helical wheel 23 and a worm 24. The shaft 22 also carries a spur gear 25 by means of which it drives another pinion 26 wedged on the axis of the controlled roller, 6, of the raceway to caterpillar, 5.
On the other hand, the shaft 12, parallel to the shaft 11, and placed on the left side, also carries a crank plate 27 which, by a connecting rod 28, controls another blade 29, the latter vertical. and pendant, arranged in the same way as the blade 2, and supported by a vertical auxiliary frame 30 of triangular shape, fixed on the corresponding longitudinal side of the frame 1; this blade 29 being intended to cut the left vertical face of the hedge while the blade 2 cuts the top.
In a variant, the frame 30 could be articulated with the frame 1, along an upper horizontal axis, and provide means for imperatively fixing its vertical position during work.
Once the machine has trimmed the top and one side of the hedge, simply turn it over to trim the other side.
In the variant embodiment of FIG. 5, the connecting rod 14 is cylindrical and surrounded by a mandrel 31 with multiple sides, for example four sides.
This mandrel is provided, at the end, with a pinion 32 which meshes with a bevel wheel 33, concentric with the crank pin, 13a, of the crank plate 13 on which it is fixed.
Thus, while the connecting rod performs its reciprocating movement which it transmits to the blade 2, the pinion 32 rolls on the wheel 33, which causes the rotation of the mandrel 31.
This one lifts the cuttings, and, thanks to its flaps, throws them back onto the ejector 15 which is behind it.
The machine according to the invention works automatically, that is to say it moves on the hedge by its own means, and performs pruning as it moves either on top only, or both on on top and on one side of the hedge.
