Boîte à musique. La présente invention a pour objet une boîte à musique, faisant office de boîte à cigarettes ou à bijoux, présentant un cou vercle pouvant pivoter sur un axe horizontal depuis une position d'ouverture jusqu'à une position de fermeture et vice versa, caracté risée en ce qu'elle comporte une poupée qui est eachée dans un compartiment de la boîte quand le couvercle est rabattu dans sa posi tion de fermeture et qui, quand le couvercle est relevé, est dressée devant ce couvercle et tourne sur elle-même sous l'action d'un organe moteur qui met simultanément en marche un tambour à goupilles de la boîte à musique.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme et une variante d'exécu tion de la boîte à musique selon l'invention.

La boîte à musique représentée aux fi,g. 1 et 2 comprend un boîtier en bois et composé d'un fond 1, de parois latérales 2 à l'une des quelles un couvercle 3 est articulé au moyen d'une charnière 4, de façon à pouvoir pivoter sur un axe horizontal depuis une position ra battue de fermeture, dans une position rele vée; la boîte comprend encore un faux-fond 5 et dles cloisons 6 perpendiculaires à l'axe de pivotement du couvercle 3 et subdivisant l'es pace situé au-dessus du faux-fond 5.
Le mouvement de boîte à musique logé entre le fond 1 et le faux-fond 5 est. de cons truction en soi connue et comprend comme pièces principales une pièce de base 7 sur la quelle sont fixés un registre de lamelles 8, un organe moteur à barillet et ressort 9, une pièce emboutie 10 faisant office de palier pour un régulateur à ailettes 11 et des mo biles 12, l3 qui servent à l'entraînement de ce régulateur à partir d'une roue dentée 1-1 montée sur l'arbre du tambour à goupilles 15.
Une autre pièce emboutie, 16, fixée à la pièce de base 7 au moyen de vis 17, sert de support à un axe de pivotement 18 parallèle à l'axe de la charnière 4, d'une pièce 19 tra versée de part et d'autre par un arbre 20 au quel elle sert de palier. Un arbre 21 paral lèle à l'arbre du tambour 15 tourne dans la pièce 16 et dans une autre pièce emboutie 22 fixée à la pièce de base 7 au moy en de vis 23. Cet arbre 21 porte, fixées sur lui, une roue dentée 24 engrenant constamment avec la roue 14, ainsi qu'une roue dentée conique 25.
Un ressort de traction 26, dont l'une des extré mités est accrochée à l'une des vis 23, agit par son autre extrémité sur la pièce pivo tante 19, à l'effet de redresser cette dernière avec l'arbre 20, avec une poupée 27 fixée sur ce dernier par ses pieds et avec un pignon conique 28 fixée sur l'extrémité inférieure de l'arbre 20. Quand ce redressement est effec tué, ce qui est le cas sitôt que le couvercle 3 est en partie relevé, le pignon 28 est en prise avec la roue dentée conique 25. En effet, ce couvercle vient appuyer, au cours de son ra battement, sur la poupée 27 qui est ainsi escamotée dans un compartiment de la boîte en prenant la position montrée en traits mixtes dans la fig. 1.
Un levier tâteur 29 en fil d'acier suffisam ment rigide est pivoté dans une pièce embou tie 30 fixée à la pièce de base 7 au moyen d'une vis 31. Un ressort de torsion 32 égale ment en fil d'acier appuie le levier tâteur constamment sur une bague d'arrêt 33 fixée sur l'arbre 20. La forme et la disposition du levier tâteur 29 sont telles que si les pièces 19, 20 et 27 sont dans la position redressée, ce levier ne s'oppose pas à la rotation du ré gulateur à ailettes 11, mais vient arrêter ce régulateur quand il est pivoté dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre (fig. 2) par le ressort 32 au cours du rabattement du couvercle 3 et de la poupée 27. Le levier tâteur 29 constitue ainsi la pièce principale d'un dispositif qui, au début du rabattement de la poupée, bloque le mouvement de l'organe moteur à barillet.
Une pièce de tôle 36, fixée au boîtier et présentant une rainure permettant le libre pivotement de l'axe 20, cache les pièces qui seraient visibles à travers l'entaille 37 du faux-fond 5.
Il va de soi que maintes modifications pourraient être apportées à la forme d'exécu tion qui vient d'être décrite.
Une de ces modifications est montrée à la fig. 3. Ici, le pignon d'angle 28 est calé sur un axe 34, tourillonné à ses deux extrémités dans une pièce emboutie 16' fixée à la pièce de base 7. Il engrène constamment avec la roue d'angle 25 fixée sur l'arbre 21. Un res sort à boudin 35 est fixé sur l'extrémité supé rieure de l'axe 34, et un bout d'axe 38, sur lequel la poupée 27 est fixée comme sur l'axe 20 des fig. 1 et 2, est fixé à l'extrémité supé rieure du ressort à boudin 35. Celui-ci rem place les pièces 18, 19 et 26. Le fonctionnement est semblable à celui de l'exemple décrit ci-dessus.
Quand le couvercle est rabattu, le ressort 35 est fléchi et le bout d'axe 38 arrête le mouvement moteur au moyen d'un dispositif semblable à celui des fig. 1 et 2. Quand le couvercle est relevé, le ressort 35 se redresse avec la poupée, le mo teur se met en marche et entraîne en rotation la poupée 27 par l'intermédiaire de l'arbre 21, des engrenages 25 et 28, ainsi que de l'axe 34, du ressort 35 et du bout d'arbre 38.
Music Box. The present invention relates to a music box, serving as a cigarette or jewelry box, having a cover which can pivot on a horizontal axis from an open position to a closed position and vice versa, character ized in that it comprises a doll which is housed in a compartment of the box when the cover is folded back into its closed position and which, when the cover is raised, is erected in front of this cover and turns on itself under the action of a motor member which simultaneously starts a pin drum of the music box.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a form and an alternative embodiment of the music box according to the invention.

The music box shown in fi, g. 1 and 2 comprises a wooden box and composed of a bottom 1, side walls 2 to one of which a cover 3 is articulated by means of a hinge 4, so as to be able to pivot on a horizontal axis from a ra beaten closing position, in a raised position; the box also comprises a false bottom 5 and partitions 6 perpendicular to the pivot axis of the cover 3 and subdividing the space located above the false bottom 5.
The music box movement housed between the bottom 1 and the false bottom 5 is. of construction known per se and comprises as main parts a base part 7 on which are fixed a blade register 8, a cylinder and spring drive member 9, a stamped part 10 acting as a bearing for a vane regulator 11 and mo biles 12, 13 which serve to drive this regulator from a toothed wheel 1-1 mounted on the shaft of the pin drum 15.
Another stamped part, 16, fixed to the base part 7 by means of screws 17, serves as a support for a pivot axis 18 parallel to the axis of the hinge 4, of a part 19 traversed on both sides. 'other by a shaft 20 which it serves as a bearing. A shaft 21 parallel to the shaft of the drum 15 rotates in the part 16 and in another stamped part 22 fixed to the base part 7 by means of screws 23. This shaft 21 carries, fixed on it, a toothed wheel 24 constantly meshing with wheel 14, as well as a bevel gear 25.
A tension spring 26, one of whose ends is hooked to one of the screws 23, acts by its other end on the pivoting part 19, in order to straighten the latter with the shaft 20, with a doll 27 fixed on the latter by its feet and with a bevel gear 28 fixed to the lower end of the shaft 20. When this recovery is effected, which is the case as soon as the cover 3 is partly raised, the pinion 28 is engaged with the conical toothed wheel 25. In fact, this cover comes to rest, during its beating, on the tailstock 27 which is thus retracted into a compartment of the box, taking the position shown in phantom in fig. 1.
A feeler lever 29 of sufficiently rigid steel wire is pivoted in a pressed part 30 fixed to the base part 7 by means of a screw 31. A torsion spring 32, also of steel wire, supports the lever. feeler constantly on a stop ring 33 fixed on the shaft 20. The shape and arrangement of the feeler lever 29 are such that if the parts 19, 20 and 27 are in the upright position, this lever does not oppose the rotation of the finned regulator 11, but comes to stop this regulator when it is pivoted anti-clockwise (fig. 2) by the spring 32 during the folding of the cover 3 and of the tailstock 27. The feeler lever 29 thus constitutes the main part of a device which, at the start of the folding back of the headstock, blocks the movement of the motor cylinder member.
A sheet metal part 36, fixed to the housing and having a groove allowing the free pivoting of the axis 20, hides the parts which would be visible through the notch 37 of the false bottom 5.
It goes without saying that many modifications could be made to the form of execution which has just been described.
One of these modifications is shown in fig. 3. Here, the angle pinion 28 is wedged on an axis 34, journaled at its two ends in a stamped part 16 'fixed to the base part 7. It constantly meshes with the angle wheel 25 fixed on the. shaft 21. A coil spring 35 is fixed on the upper end of the axis 34, and a shaft end 38, on which the doll 27 is fixed as on the axis 20 of FIGS. 1 and 2, is fixed to the upper end of the coil spring 35. This replaces the parts 18, 19 and 26. The operation is similar to that of the example described above.
When the cover is closed, the spring 35 is flexed and the axle end 38 stops the motor movement by means of a device similar to that of FIGS. 1 and 2. When the cover is raised, the spring 35 is straightened with the doll, the motor starts up and drives the doll 27 in rotation by means of the shaft 21, the gears 25 and 28, thus than the axis 34, the spring 35 and the shaft end 38.
