Machine for cutting reels of paper and the like. The present invention relates to a machine for cutting paper reels and similar objects.
The machine according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a support on which a frame pivots, said frame carrying a shaft on which is mounted at least one circular saw, said shaft being parallel to the axis around which the armature pivots on the support and located at a distance from the latter, a set of rollers pivotally mounted on the support and intended to carry the reel to be cut, and means for dragging the shaft carrying the circular saw and at least l one of the rollers of said set of rollers.
The drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the machine which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a first embodiment of the machine in the rest position.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same machine, also in the rest position. Fig. 3 is a cross section along the line I-I of FIG. 1, but corresponding. to the operating position of the machine. FIG. 4 is a schematic view of an actuating device for the machine, and FIGS. 5 and 6 show a front elevation, respectively lateral, of the second embodiment.
The machine comprises, in its general arrangement, a support a on which is mounted, on a rocker, a frame b carrying a circular saw c, the axis of which is connected to a motor c. this support comprising a counterweight e which tends to bring it to its rest position. In addition, on said support a is fitted a set of support rollers f for the reel g; limiting means h for bringing the circular saw closer to the: rollers f and guide means i capable of laterally maintaining the reel in a determined place are also provided of these same rolls.
The support a (see fig. 1) consists of a base 1, at the ends of which are fixed two heads 2 carrying supports 3 each provided with a pad 4, which are intended for mounting the hinge axis of the 'reinforcement b.
This frame comprises a frame 5, preferably metallic and rectangular in shape, one of the largest sides (the lower side according to the example shown) is formed by a pin 6 mounted by its ends in the bearings of the supports 3 (fig. 1). ). Thus, the armature pivots, on the support cc, around the axis 6.
The other long side, parallel to that which constitutes the axis 6, is constituted by a bar 6 'allowing the worker who operates the machine to move the armature b.
The small sides 7 of the frame b are vented holes fixed to the bar 6 'and to the axis 6; two arms 8 also integral with this. axis, are arranged parallel to the short sides 7, but in the opposite direction to them, as seen in Figs. 1 to 3. These arms 8 support a bar 9 on which is mounted the counterweight e composed of one or more weights 10, of suitable type and dimensions. This counterweight is used to adjust the torque to which the armature is subjected around axis 6.
In the middle of the short sides 7 of the frame are arranged two pads 11 (Fig. 2) in which are mounted the ends of an axis 12 carrying the. circular saw c which, as can be seen in fig. 1, is placed parallel to the long sides of said frame.
The circular saw c is preferably fixed in the central part of its axis 12. According to a variant (not illustrated), the saw could also be mounted on the axis 12, so that it is possible to move it longitudinally on said axis and to fix it on different points thereof.
According to another variant, the axis 12 could carry several saws spaced apart from one another and which can simultaneously cut a coil into various sections of equal or different widths.
The axis 12 of the saw c is actuated by a motor d, which, in the example illustrated, consists of an electric motor 13. The transmission between the axis 12 and the motor 13 is shown in FIG. 1 and in fig. 4, which shows a section along line II of FIG. 1.
This transmission comprises a first toothed pinion 14 fixed to one of the ends of the axle 12; a second and a third toothed pinion 15 and 16, integral with a sleeve 17 mounted idle at the end of the hinge pin 6 of the frame b and a fourth pinion 1R adapted to the pin 19 of the motor 13 . The toothed pinions 14 and 15, 16 and 18 respectively, are connected by means of endless chains 20, respectively 21. With this transmission, the saw c can be kept in motion independently of the angular displacements of the mature arc b .
The small sleeve 17 be formed by a tubular body mounted for example by means of bearings with bearings at the end of the axis 6; the toothed gears 15 and 16 form an integral part of said tubular body, as well as a pulley 22 intended to actuate one of the support rollers f.
The support rollers f include a pair of rollers 23 and 24 spaced apart from each other; the roller 24, consisting of two parts, is mounted on a rotating axis in bearings 25 arranged on the heads 2 of the support a (Fig. 2). The roller 24 is mounted idle, while the roller 23 is connected to the motor by means of a pulley 26 and an endless belt 27. In this way, the motor 13, by actuating the sleeve 17 by means of the chain 27 simultaneously sets in motion the chain 20 which in turn operates the saw c and the belt 27 which drives the roller 23.
The roll 23 is of uniform diameter and its surface is rough. so that the coil placed in the machine is driven. Roll 24 is larger in diameter than roll 23.
A stop 28 is intended to limit the approximation of the saw c to the rollers f. This stop is. set at. the upper part of one of the heads 2 and is. disposed in the path of one of the arms 7 of the frame. In order to be able to maintain the reel! J at a determined place along the rollers f, guides i are provided consisting of two discs 29 mounted on the roller 23 and between which the reel is intended to be placed. These discs are integral with a ring 30 provided with fixing screws 31, so that they can be secured at different points of said roller 23.
The operation of the machine described is as follows: The reel to be cut must be placed on the support a so that it is securely fixed between the support rollers'? 3 and 21 (fig. 3). Then the motor 13 is started and, through it, the saw c. rotates and simultaneously the roller 23. The latter rotates the reel g of I açon that the latter, by moving, facilitates the sawing operation by the. saw c.
To do this, the armature must be brought down and overcome the resistance offered by the counterweight e until the saw comes into contact with the coil and advances in the reverse direction thereof (fig. 3). ). The saw blade is introduced into the body of the reel up to its center, this advance being limited by the stop 28. This avoids a possible and dangerous encounter between the saw c and the rollers f.
The coil being cut off. it will suffice to lift the armature b slightly so that it, requested by the counterweight and turns on its axis. returns to its position (rest (fig. 2).
The embodiment according to fig. 5 and 6 include a support @ 'consisting of two heads 32 and 33 and two intermediate flanges 34 and 35, Two support rollers 36 and 37 are mounted in bearings., Ball of the support @', said rollers being placed at a distance from each other (so as to be able to support the reel to be cut. The roller 37 carries guides 38 capable of being fixed to the tong of said roller. One end of the ronleau 37 protrudes from the @ 'support and carries a @oulie 39 by means of which said roller can be driven by a motor.
In the upper part of the support @ 'is mounted, by means of the ball bearings, for example, a shaft 40 carrying a frame b' itself, as shown in FIG. 5, is constituted by an adre 41 consisting of two side arms 42 connected together by a spacer 43 to which is fixed a bar 44 by which the user can actuate the armature.
The arms 42 are pivoted on the shaft 40 by means of bearings and carry a bar 45 intended to carry a counterweight 46 (FIG. 6). In bearings 47, carried by the arms 42, can rotate a shaft 48 carrying a circular saw 49. The circular saw is arranged outside the frame 41 parallel to the arms 42, near the arm looking towards the support side, and is attached to one end of shaft 48.
The other end of the shaft 48 carries a toothed wheel 50, connected by a chain 51 to another toothed wheel 52, the latter being integral with a sleeve 53 mounted idle on the shaft 40. The sleeve 53 also comprises a toothed wheel 54 and a pulley 55.
The toothed wheel 54 is connected by a chain 56 to a toothed wheel 57 connected to the shaft 58 of an electric motor 59. In addition, the pulley 55 is connected by a belt 39 'cooperating with a tensioning device 39 " , with a louse 39 driving the roller 37.
Thus, the motor 59 actuates the sleeve 53, which drives the toothed wheel 52 controlling the saw 49 and the pulley 55 controlling the roller 37.
In order to prevent accidents and also to protect the saw 49, the machine comprises a cover 60, semicircular in shape, preferably metallic and fixed to the corresponding arm 42 by means of consoles 61.
The outer wall 62 can be removed in order to allow the removal of the saw 49. The machine comprises a suction device j, cooperating with the cover 60 to absorb the dust caused by sawing the paper reel, said dust. being aeheminée in a container (not shown).
This device in particular prevents dust from entering the engine.
The cover has a tubular portion 63 downwards leading to the inlet of the suction device j. The latter is controlled by means of a pulley 65 fixed to a shaft 66 of a fan (not shown), this pulley 65 being connected by a belt 67 to. a pulley 68 fixed to the shaft 18 carrying the saw -19. The device f comprises a metal support 69 fixed to said frame, the device, j thus pivoting with the frame.
The difference in length between the arma ture b 'and the rollers 36 and 37 allows too eonneinent paper reels of great length, this in reels of minimum tone -leur of about 10 cm depending on the nature of the reel. throne.
The results obtained allow to affirm sea that if one employs, allow usual methods, one hour on average for the truncation (the one reel (the gran (the usual leiir, this operation could be carried out in about four minutes to the The aid of machines constituting embodiments of the present invention.
