Display item with automatic machine. The present invention relates to an article for display with an automatic device, in which the mechanical means comprise at least one rotary motor imparting movement to at least one object. relatively. to a frame on which this object is mounted.
The accompanying drawing represents, to. title. examples, two embodiments of this article according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is. a front view of the first embodiment.
The filg. 2 is a side view through the; @ a.n- elie of the fil-. 1.
Fig. 3 is a partial plan view through the binder of FIG. <B> 1. </B>
The thread-. 4 is a front view of the. second embodiment.
The, fig. d is a top plan view (the la fil-. 4.
The end. 6 is. a schematic front view @ a detail of the end. 4 to. enlarged scale and in another position.
The standard article shown is one of those in which the rotary motor imparts movement to. a relatively object. to a frame on which this object is mounted so as to. attract the attention of the public by its movement. The frame 2 comprises a base 2a, near an edge of which is embedded a vertical board <B> 27) </B> leaning against a frame 2c in the middle of its width.
A horizontal board 2f and an inclined board 2g supported on the side walls form a lower box containing lamps 23 and a reflector 23c behind a window 2h of the board 2cg, window closed by a translucent plate 2i carrying an advertising text concerning a remedy for seasickness or other ailments that drowners experience in vehicles which are. subjects to take periodic balancing movements which are foreign to their normal translational movement.
In both embodiments, the object moved by a motor 4 is such a vehicle, on a reduced scale, and seen from the ava.nt in the fim. 1 and 4.
In the embodiment of FIGS. .1 to 3, this mobile object is a board 3 parallel to the fixed board 2b and cut in the shape of a ship seen from the front. At its rear, this board supports a mast 17 and other attributes of a ship designated by 18.
The motor 4, located in the right end of the lower box seen from the front, rotates a pinion 5 that a chain 6 connects to a united toothed wheel 7 whose shaft 8 passes through the upright 2c and the board 2b. At the front of this board, this shaft carries a crank 9 whose button 10 is integral with the internal ring of a ball bearing 11 whose outer ring is fixed in a reinforcement stud 12 of the board 3, at the back of it. To this stud is fixed a slide 13 forming a connecting rod and constituted by a flat blade having a longitudinal opening and extending downwards where this opening is freely traversed by a bolt 14 fixed through the upright 2c and the board 2b by means of a nut.
The slide 13, at the right where it is crossed by this bolt, is guided freely between two pairs each consisting of a nut and a locknut.
The pad 12 carries at its upper part a mercury switch mounted in the circuit of the lamps 23 to which it is connected by a flexible wire 20 and by contactor devices 21 and 22. The frame also comprises a vertical plane 2g cut and painted with so as to represent a foreground of sea waves. In fig. 1, the. board 3 is assumed to be torn, so that stud 12 and. the smooth neck 13 are visible. The planchette \? f presents ime notch through the bottom of the board 3 corresponding to the keel of the ship.
It is understood that this board 3 is fully supported by the crank 9 which, by rotating, causes it to oscillate around the bolt 14 by sliding relative to this bolt over a length double that of the arm of the crank. Plate 2b, which forms a background against which the boat stands out, is painted in such a way that there is an aspect of the sky.
In the. embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the vehicle shown is an airplane 3a shown in high relief. This object is also integral with a connecting rod, designated by 24 and shorter than the connecting rod constituted by the slide 13, but integral like this one with the bearing clans which touime the button 10a of a crank 9a wedged on the shaft. wheel 7.
This connecting rod is also connected, by. its articulation 14a opposite this button, to a guide device allowing the variation of the distance of this articulation to one of the axes of the level. While in fig. 2 it is the distance from the button 10 to the bolt 14 which varies, it is here that of this articulation 14a to the axis of rotation 8 of the crank 9a which is that of the wheel 7.
For this., The short connecting rod 24 integral with the airplane a. its' articulation 14c opposite the button 10a of the crank supported by the arm 25 of 1-in lever of which another arm 25a is at the rear of the fixed board 2b and is. connected by a vertical spring 26, seen from above in FIG. 5, to a fixed console \ 7. The joint common to the connecting rod 24 and to the arm 25 is thus constantly urged upwards while the other articulation of the connecting rod 24 is.
constrained by the crank 9a to. describe circles 32 of small radius, which gives rise to oscillations of the connecting rod \ '4 and of the aircraft 3a. Things are arranged so that the amplitude of these oscillations is less than a quarter of a turn on either side of an average position for which the plane of the two axes of the crank contains that of the articulation of the connecting rod with the lever. The spring 26 could be replaced by a counterweight.
We see. in fig. 5 that the object depicting the airplane is a board 3a. whose faces are perpendicular to the. board 2b and that it bears attributes such as a cabin 31 in its middle and engines on the wings formed by this board on either side of its middle.
29 designates a cloud that can be painted on, plate 2b, most of the surface of which would represent the blue sky.
A board 3b, smaller than the fixed board 2b, which is a cloud by its shape and color, is carried by the arm 25 of the lever, in a plane normal to the axis of this lever. As the arm 25 is substantially horizontal, this cloud on which a part of the airplane stands out oscillates in a practically vertical direction.
28 designates a fixed cloud represented by a board cut out and fixed roughly like the board 2, j of FIG. 2, in a space that cannot be reached. by the wings of the airplane.
There are at least two lamps 23, so that the connection means 21 and 22 allow these lamps to be connected in series or in parallel depending on the voltage of the distribution sector. These lamps are not. not shown in fig. 4 and 5.
The transmission members 5, 6, 7 are housed in a box formed behind the plane che 2b by side walls 2d and a plane che 2e parallel to the board 21j.
