Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Benetzungs-, Reinigungs-, Emulgierungs- und Dispergierungsmittels. Wir haben gefunden, dass der Stearyl-p- Amitioäthyltolyäther (Formel C171136 - CO- NH-CH2-CH20 C6H4CHs, zu dessen Herstel lung ein technisches m- und p-gresolgemisch verwendet wurde,
durch Behandeln mit einem Sulfonierungsmittel in ein wertvolles Benet- zungs-, Reinigungs-, Emulgierungs- und Dis- pergierungsmittel umgewandelt wird.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 15,1 Teile P-Aminoäthyltolyläther, der aus einem technischen Meta- und Paracresolge- misch erhalten werden kann, indem man zu nächst Tolylogyäthylchlorid nach einem der Herstellungsweise des ss-Pbenoxyäthylchlorids genau analogen Verfahren (Jour. Amr. Chem. Soc. 1926, 48, 2745) herstellt und es durch Einwirkung von Ammoniak auf bekannte Weise in den ss-Aminoäthyltolyläther über führt, ein farbloses Öl, werden mit 28,
5 Tei len Stearinsäure auf 170-180<B>0</B> C erhitzt, bis zum Aufhören der Entwicklung von Was ser. Der so erhaltene rohe Stearylaminoäthyl- tolyläther ist ein hellbrauner, wachsähnlicher Festkörper, der bei ungefähr 60 C schmilzt. Er wird sulfoniert, indem man ihn in sein an derthalbfaches Gewicht Schwefelsäure-Mono- hydrat von 20-251) C einrührt: Wenn eine Probe mit Wasser eine klare schäumende Lösung gibt, wird das Sulfonie- rungsgemisch in so viel Natronlauge gegossen, dass man ein neutrales Gemenge erhält.
Die erhaltene Cri;me oder Paste ist gebrauchs fertig zur Verwendung als Reinigungs- oder Dispergierungsmittel. Sie kann indessen durch Trocknen in einen weissen, körnigen Fest körper umgewandelt werden, der sich leicht zu einem feinen weissen Pulver vermahlen lässt.
Das neue Produkt ist ein weisser Fest körper, der sich leicht in Wasser zu schäu menden Lösungen löst, welche in Gegenwart von Chlorkalzium und Mineralsäuren bestän- dig sind. Sie sind besonders brauchbar zum Reinigen von Wolle oder zum Dispergieren von Kalkseifen bei dieser und andern Wasch- und Reinigungsoperationen.
