Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Küpenfarbstoifes. Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Küpenfarb- stoffes, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man 1.4-Benzochinon auf 2. 2'-Dimethyl- dihydrodianthron in der Wärme einwirken lässt.

werden mit 10 Gewichtsteilen 1.4-Benzo- chinon in der zehnfachen Menge Chlorbenzol längere Zeit gekocht. Nach dem Erkalten wird der Kristallbrei abgesaugt und mit Chlorbenzol gewaschen. Darauf wird der Rückstand zur Reinigung aus einer Mischung gleicher Teile Alkohol und einfach normaler Natronlauge ausgekocht bis das heiss abge saugte Filtrat nicht mehr braun gefärbt ist.
Nach dem Neutralwaschen und Trocknen stellt der Rückstand einen grünen Farbstoff dar, der sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure violett löst und aus rotvioletter Küpe Baum wolle grün färbt.
Das 2-Methyl-9-anthron ist aus p-Methyl- benzoylbenzoesäure über die p-Methylbenzyl- benzoesäure und Ringschluss der letzteren erhältlich. Das erwähnte Anthron gibt beim Oxydieren seiner Eisessiglösung mit Eisen chlorid das 2.2'-Dimethyldihydrodianthron, das aus Benzol in feinen, farblosen Nadeln vom F. P. 208/209 C kristallisiert. Es stimmt im Schmelzpunkt mit dem von Barnett, B. 65, 1565 beschriebenen Produkt überein. .

The 2-methyl-9-anthrone can be obtained from p-methylbenzylbenzoic acid via p-methylbenzylbenzoic acid and ring closure of the latter. When its glacial acetic acid solution is oxidized with iron chloride, the aforementioned anthrone gives 2,2'-dimethyldihydrodianthrone, which crystallizes from benzene in fine, colorless needles of F.P. 208/209 C. Its melting point is the same as that of the product described by Barnett, B. 65, 1565. .
