Description
Montre-bracelet-chronographe.
Chronograph wristwatch. The watch that is referred to in horology as a chronograph watch has a complicated movement which is not commonly performed in sizes below 13 "and this in a round movement.
Wristwatches are also known with a large central hand which can be stopped using a push-piece in blocking the balance. The hour and minute then also stop and such a watch does not provide the services of a chronograph watch.
The present invention relates to a chronograph wristwatch comprising a case which contains two movements each comprising a barrel, a gear train and an escapement, the first of these movements being intended to give the indication of hours and minutes and the second with stopping the balance and resetting the minute and second hands.
The complicated mechanism of the chronograph is rendered unnecessary by the use of two movements which have parts known to every watchmaker, and therefore easy to repair. The price of the usual parts of a watch is cheaper than that of the special parts of the chronograph. Consequently, if usual elements are used, despite an apparent complication, the cost price of the watch described below will be lower than that of a so-called "chronograph" watch.
The two movements can be completely separated from each other and each have its own winding mechanism. It is also possible to establish the two movements on the same plate and to arrange the winding mechanism so as to actuate the two motor springs simultaneously or alternatively. A single dial can also be provided with the hour and minute indications and the seconds and counter indications juxtaposed one beside the other.
