Montre-calendrier.
Calendar watch. The present invention relates to a calendar watch comprising an indicator which makes it possible to see whether the hands of the watch indicate a time of day or of night.
The hour hand makes two turns in twenty-four hours, while the calendar moves only once a day. To ensure an update. exact date, we have to know when the calendar change takes place, otherwise it may happen that this change takes place at noon instead of midnight.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, some embodiments: of. calendar watch according to the invention. It is shown in the drawing only what is useful for understanding the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a partial view of the dial of the meter of FIG. 1.
The fi-. 3 is a variant of the dial of FIG. 2.
Wire-. 4 and 5 are respectively sectional and top views of another embodiment.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, carriageway 1 carries the minute hand, while barrel 2 of the hour wheel carries the hour hand and makes two turns in twenty-four hours. On the barrel 2 is driven out a wheel 3 controlling the calender which therefore rotates at the same speed as said barrel. The control wheel 3 is engaged with a first intermediate wheel 4 which in turn meshes with a second intermediate wheel 5; the latter drives a third intermediate wheel 6.
The different wheels 4, 5, 6 are rotated in the plate 7 of the movement and carry pins such as 8 to advance the date indicators. The three wheels 4, 5, 6 all have the same diameter and the same number of teeth which is determined so that they complete one revolution in twenty-four hours. In fig. 1, 9 designates the dial and 10 the days disc.
Due to the direction of rotation, only the second intermediate wheel, namely wheel 5, can be used as an indicator of the day or night hours. The axis of the. wheel 5 carries a hand 1.1 which therefore makes one revolution in twenty-four hours and which moves in front of a small eccentric dial divided into twenty-four equal parts (FIG. 2).
The sector marked between ten and two o'clock indicates that the push buttons cannot be used to change the date during this time. According to a variant (FIG. 3), the eccentric dial is divided into two parts by a horizontal diameter, la. upper part, white, indicating day and lower part, dark, indicating night.
The hatched sector again highlights the period when the pushers must not be touched. The upper part may have a decorative motif like the one shown, imitating the sun darting its rays.
In another embodiment, shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the needle 11 is suppressed and the. intermediate wheel 5 bears a decal similar to the drawing of the small dial in FIG. 3. A window 12, made in the dial 9, makes it possible to see part of the wheel 5 and to realize whether the. watch indicates a time of day or night.
We can make changes to the fiâ. 1. For example, instead of using a control wheel 3, the barrel wheel or hour wheel 2 could be directly engaged with the first intermediate wheel 4. On the other hand, instead of using the intermediate wheels 4, 5, 6 which advance the calendar, it would be possible to add an additional wheel; in this case, this wheel could be controlled by the. timer wheel.
