Abstract
Watch comprises a rotating regulation mechanism in which the cage (10) for the rotating mechanism or tourbillion is driven so that it rotates by a gear wheel (19), the upper surface of which (12) bears an indicator or hand (21) that indicates time on a dial (22) scale. A mechanism (17) is provided that enables the cage position to be adjusted and fixed depending on the dial thickness so that the indicator is always at the correct level relative to the dial or face.
Description
The present invention relates to timepieces such as wristwatches or pocket watches which include a tourbillon or carousel escapement mechanism, visible from the dial side, in which the upper bridge of the tourbillon cage carries an indicator member cooperating with a graduation of the dial.
In pieces of this type, the height of the cage is determined for a single thickness of dial. If you want to replace this dial with another one, of different thickness, you have to carry out several expensive operations, or even change several parts, to bring the indicator member to the level of the corresponding graduation of the new dial.
The present invention relates to a timepiece of the type in question for which changes of dials can be executed quickly and easily at a reduced cost.
This timepiece is defined by claim 1, embodiments by claims 2 and following.
The attached drawing shows, schematically and by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of a wristwatch according to the invention in which said means, particularly simple, make it possible to adapt the axial position of the cage of the tourbillon with various dial thicknesses.
Fig. 1 is an axial section view of the tourbillon cage and a thin dial.
Fig. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 after adaptation of the axial position of the cage to a thick dial.
The tourbillon escapement mechanism shown in the drawing comprises a cage 10 comprising a lower bridge 11 and an upper bridge 12. The balance wheel and the exhaust mobile are respectively designated by the references 13 and 14. The cage 10 is pivoted in a ball bearing 15 whose raceway 16 is fixed by an intermediate piece 17 mounted on the plate 18.
The cage 10 is rotated, at the rate of one revolution per minute, by a cylindrical toothed wheel 19, with straight teeth, which meshes with an external teeth 20 of the bridge 11.
The axial position of the cage is fixed so that an index 21, engraved or attached to the bridge 12, is at the same level as a graduation in seconds of the dial 22.
The axial position of the cage 10 can be quickly and easily adapted to another dial 22, which is thicker or even thinner, so that the index 21 is always at the level of the graduation in seconds of the dial 22.
Fig. 2 shows the same wristwatch, after replacing the dial 22, shown in FIG. 1, by a thicker 22 min dial.
We see that the 21 min index is located at the level of the graduation in seconds of the 22 min dial.
This operation required, in this case, that the installation of an intermediate piece 17 min higher than the piece 17.
The height of the wheel 19 is determined so as to mesh with the toothing 20 in the cases envisaged above, but also for other dials of different thicknesses and corresponding intermediate pieces 17. The invention is obviously not limited to the embodiment described. In particular, it is possible to envisage means other than those described, to adapt the axial position of the cage 10 to the thickness of the dials.
