Sur les dessins: La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation de l'ar rière de l'appareil cinématographique avec le couvercle enlevé et ainsi -qu'on le voit dans la direction de projection ou de prise de vues; La fig. 2 est une vue en élévation du de vant de l'appareil en le regardant dans la di rection opposée à celle de la fig. 1;
Les fig. 3a et 3b ,Sont ,des schémas mon trant deux positions d'une came d'un modèle spécial, comme on l'expliquera, tandis que la fig. 4 montre une modification apportée à la came; La fig. 5 est une coupe verticale suivant la. ligneV --#l de la, fig. 1 avec certaines par ties en élévation et elle montre le parcours du rayon lumineux lorsque l'appareil est em ployé comme appareil & prise de vues.;
fig.
Cinematographic apparatus. The invention relates to a cinematographic apparatus, comprising several lenses arranged in a circle around a common axis, by means of which. - pictures> have. taken successively.
One such apparatus is described in Swiss Patent No. 161327. According to the invention, the lenses are arranged. around a rectangular path of the film, inside which moves, following a path parallel to the sides of said path, a frame on which are mounted the points, driving the film, so that all these. points move simultaneously along parallel square trajectories to drive the film successively along the different sides of its course.
An embodiment of the object of the invention -is shown, by way of example; to the accompanying drawings where the invention is applied to a chamber. four lenses to produce four sets of single-line exposures on the film, with the film being moved to. each window has four image spaces at a time.
In the drawings: FIG. 1 is an elevational view of the rear of the cinematographic apparatus with the cover removed and as seen in the direction of projection or shooting; Fig. 2 is an elevational view of the front of the apparatus looking at it in the direction opposite to that of FIG. 1;
Figs. 3a and 3b, Are diagrams showing two positions of a cam of a special model, as will be explained, while fig. 4 shows a modification made to the cam; Fig. 5 is a vertical section along the. line V - # 1 of the, fig. 1 with some parts in elevation and it shows the path of the light beam when the camera is used as a & camera .;
Fig. G is a view similar to FIG. 5 showing the course of its light rays when the apparatus is used for projections. Only the details necessary to make the object of the invention fully understood have been shown.
In order to understand the actuation mechanism of the film, reference will be made to. first to. fig. 1 which shows the path followed by a film whose sections la-ld lie sensibly on the four sides of a square. During the shooting, the film I 'is unwound from a reel', passes over one side of a sprocket wheel 31 accompanied by guide rollers. In the known manner,
then advancing counterclockwise, these sections are applied successively to the four sides of an ugly square, then the film returns to the sprocket wheel 3 from where it is rolled again on the reel 4. The same mechanism moves the film by making it pass successively in front of each window and for this purpose four spikes 5a-5 (1 equidis aunts are carried by - a frame 5.
Slots l 'are formed in the film guide shelves la-ld in correspondence with the points each of which, when it reaches the end of a slit and protrudes sufficiently to enter a perforation of the film, moves the. along the slit without relative transverse movement with respect to the film.
The chassis. 5 must follow by moving a square profile and consequently each point: must also follow a square profile.
For this purpose, the frame 5 is mounted on a hollow square frame 6 by means of a boss 7 connecting the frame 5 to a plate 8 covering the frame 6 (fig. 5, 7 and .8), and the frame 6 slides successively along the interior sides of a square frame 9 which surrounds it and the displacement of the frame 6 is obtained by means of a cam 10 which rotates inside this square frame 6.
The profile of this cam is such that it always keeps contact with them. internal sides of the frame 6, as can be seen schematically in FIGS. @ 3a and 3b.
Cam 10 is divided into four parts at right angles to each other; it comprises the two diametrically opposed parts ab and cd to rays ri and 1-2 with a common center e, the difference x between these rays being the distance corresponding to the displacement of the film at each window, i.e. the difference between the outer side of the frame 6 and the inner side of the frame 9.
The concentric parts cab and cd are connected by. arcs of circles ac and bd which are tangent to the arc cd and have a radius equal to the chord of the arc ab and connect at opposite ends of this chord.
It is obvious that the radius of the arcs. ctc, bd (chord ab) is equal to the inner side of the square frame 6 = ri -I- r2. It follows that the, value x of the required displacement is obtained by the formula
EMI0002.0068
which determines all four dimensions of the cam.
The cam 10 being .in the position shown in FIG. 3a, if we rotate it around we center e - counterclockwise, we see that the concentric surfaces ab and cd s' oppose any movement of the frame 6 which would cause it to rise oii -descend along the axis iv, w ', while the surface ac of the.
cam -will move frame 6 to the left along the y, y 'axis. Assuming -so that frame 6 cannot rotate -because it bears against the upper side - frame 9 @ (fig. 1), frame -6 is forced to move along an absolutely straight line parallel to its sides fk and glu, until what the. cam has completed a quarter turn, or 90 '. The. position is now that shown on the.
fig. 3b when the sides lela and fg start to become tangent to the arcs ab and cd respectively. We can now see that when the cam continues to rotate of 90 ', it makes the frame 6 descend along the axis w, ao' and at the same time it is positively opposed to.
any movement of said frame along the y, y 'axis. A further description is unnecessary to explain how this same movement is repeated when the cam completes its other half-revolution. The position -of the film drive tips and that of the frame 5 shown in FIG. 1 is the one they occupy when they have completed their climb and are about to move to the left.
The 'point 5a has just passed through the. slot the and is. entry into a perforation. of the film on the. table la and tip 5d has just completed the movement, of the film on the. tablet 1d. The movement of the frame 5 to the left moves the film along the. tablet l a without relative displacement of the.
point with respect to the perforation of the film and withdraws the point 5d of the film on the tablet 1d without relative longitudinal movement between the point and the film and at the end of the stroke the point 5b enters a perforation of the film on the shelf lb. According to this description. it is easy to see how in the following the displacement of the film on the guide shelves lb, le, l.d.
In practice, it is desirable to remove the sharp corners of the. cam 10 in a and b which are subject to wear. Fig. 4 shows a modification to obtain this result. It suffices to add a band of equal thickness r3 all around the primitive cam and to join at the angles the curves limiting this band with curves with rs radii and to reduce Make the frame 6 by an equivalent amount slowly to the deleted surfaces of the cam.
Figs. 5 and 8 show the control of the cam 10 which is carried by a flange 11a of the shaft 11 mounted in. a bearing with a transverse pa king 19-, -of the camera. The shaft 11 is driven by a pulley 13 (fig. 2 and 5) and the shaft also carries a sector 14 which closes each lens successively by a quarter of a turn during which the respective section of the film is moved.
The openings of the pa king 12 which uncover the lenses are indicated at 15 and the lenses are disposed radially - in the frames 16 (fib. 5) and provided with reflective prisms 17 facing the openings 15.
As shown in fig. 5 and 6, the shelves 1a, etc., and the axes. len tilles are inclined at an angle on the transverse plane of the. camera, so that the reflector prisms 17 direct all the rays towards the same not very distant point, the - camera. being mainly intended for plane objects at this distance, for example fluorescent screens for X-rays.
The apparatus is actuated by a motor 18 driving an intermediate shaft 19 (fig. 2) which controls either the shutter scent 14 and the pulley 13 for controlling the cam 10 as well as the sprocket wheel 3 and the coils thereof. bearing or winding in reverse when the device is used as a projector. These commands in -diverse direction are effected by a clutch actuated by a button or a wheel 20 (FIG. 5) which also serves to. turn the camera by hand to put the film in place opposite the various windows.
In the normal control position both as a camera and as a projector, the clutch connects the shaft 19 to the pulley 13 which, by the gears 21 and 22 and the member 23, drives the sprocket wheel 3 -of the film whose shaft by means of a crossed belt 24 drives the winding reel 4. A larger winding reel 4a dragged through the reel shaft 4 by means of a belt 25 can also be used for throwing larger reels.
A corresponding large supply coil 2a is also used and for reverse winding the coils 2 and 2a are driven together by the shaft 19 by means of the belts 2, 6, 27, which takes place when the pulley control 13 is disengaged and the shaft 19 is engaged on the pulley of the belt 26. Guide pulleys 28 (fib. 1) are used to support the different lengths of film when the large reels 2a and 4a are used and in this case the path of the film is indicated by the dotted lines F.
The apparatus which has just been described is mounted on the transverse partition 12 inside a square box 29, the front cover 30 of which has openings 31 in relation to the openings 1 .. 5 of the partition 12, but which -are a little .deported to give not wise to the light rays having the inclination that we see in fig. 5 and 6. The rear cover 32 has an opening 33 which is closed by a pad 34 when the camera is in use.
An advantage of the lens arrangement which directs the rays radially from the inside onto the film results from the fact that for the projections a single source of light can be used arranged inside the film path and this is still another advantage of the film. 'use a:
very simple device for reflecting the light rays coming from such a source and which pass through each window in turn. In fig. 6, there is schematically indicated in 3.5 a source of illumination located outside the box of the apparatus and near the opening 33 of the air cover from which the buffer 34 is removed.
A pyramid reflector 3-6 is carried by the frame 5 of the points and moves with it, each side of the pyramid being parallel to one of the directions of movement. We then see that when the organs are in the position shown in fig: 1, the pyramidal face 36e reflects the emitted light - from the source 35 which will pass through the window 37 - from the tablet and from there, am; the direction shown in fig. 6 and that the movement of the pyramid 36 to the left with the frame 5 does not come in any way in the path of the reflected rays.
When the frame 5 reaches its extreme left position and begins its downward movement, the face 36a of the pyramid comes into play and reflects the light through the film of the plate 1ô.
As the spiked frame 5 approaches each window of the film, said frame can be used to relieve the pressure of the springs on the film and give it freedom of movement. This allows stronger springs to be employed and the film to be held better. However, the release of the spring pressure can be obtained by the shaft of the cam and the shutter in another suitable way, for example by means of another cam shown at 38 in figs. 2 and 5.
