Description
Man gibt 5 norm.
Process for the production of a neutral-soluble complex salt of trivalent antimony. The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a neutral-soluble complex salt of trivalent antimony, which is characterized in that a trivalent antimony compound is allowed to act on gluconic acid in a molecular ratio with the addition of enough sodium hydroxide solution to produce a neutral final reaction.
The present invention now relates to a process for the preparation of a newly soluble complex salt of trivalent antimony, which is characterized in that 1 mol of antimony hydroxide is acted on 2 mol of gluconic acid with the addition of that much sodium hydroxide solution. lets a neutral final reaction arise. It is advantageous to use antimony hydroxide, which was formed from antimony trichloride in the presence of gluconic acid.
The new product obtained can be used as an intermediate product for technical use.
Example: 12 g of antimony trichloride are dissolved in 30 cm "'methyl alcohol and 40 cm" 50% gluconic acid is added. 5 normal sodium hydroxide solution is added until it reacts neutral. The antimony hydroxide precipitated at the beginning dissolves towards the end. 40 cm of water are added and the mixture is heated for about 1/2 hour on the water bath. The completely or almost clear solution is filtered, cooled and the complex salt formed is precipitated by stirring in methyl alcohol. Washed with methyl alcohol, dries in a desiccator and then in the air.
About 20 g of a colorless powder are obtained which can easily be dissolved in water with a neutral reaction. The solution remains clear on addition of dilute sodium hydroxide solution. Hydrogen sulphide antimony sulphide precipitates from the solution acidified with tartaric acid.
The antimony content of the sodium antimony-gluconate obtainable in this way is about 23%.
