Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung einer Verbindung mit hydriertem Ringsystem. Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Tetra-inethyl- tetrahydrobenzaldehyds, welches dadurch ge kennzeichnet ist, dass man 1.1.4-Trimethyl- butadien mit Crotonaldehyd kondensiert. Die neue Verbindung soll zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen, pharmazeutischen Produkten und Riechstoffen verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 96 Gewichtsteile 1 .1. 4-Ti#iinethylbutadieii und 210 Gewichtsteile Crotonaldehyd werden in einem Druckgefäss 3 Stunden auf 180 erhitzt. Mai) destilliert das Reaktionsgemisch darauf im Vakuum. Nach einem grössere Vor lauf, der aus unverändertem Kohlenwasser stoff und Crotonaldehyd besteht, erhält man eine Hauptfraktion, die bei einem Druck von 16 mm zwischen 80-125 siedet. Diese wird nochmals destilliert. Der reine Aldehyd wird aus der so erhaltenen Fraktion vom Kp. 1s 90-115 über die Bisulfitverbindung gewon nen.
Er besitzt den Siedepunkt Kp ie 92-93 und stellt ein wasserhelles, bewegliches, stark lichtbrechendes Öl dar. Sein nicht unange nehmer Geruch erinnert in starker Verdünnung an den von frischem Heu.
Aus dem Vorlauf kann durch Wieder holung des Erhitzens eine weitere Menge des Aldehyds gewonnen werden.

A further amount of the aldehyde can be obtained from the forerun by repeating the heating.
