Verfahren zur Darstellung einer 'Verbindung mit hydriertem Ringsystem. Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung einer Verbindung von folgender Konstitution

welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man 1 .4-Dimethylbutadietl mit Crotottaldehyd kon densiert. Die neue Verbindung soll zur Her stellung von Farbstoffen, pharmazeutischen Produkten und Riechstoffen verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 82 Gewichtsteile 1.4-Ditnethylbutadiett und 210 Gewichtsteile Crotonaldehvd werden in einem Druckgefäss 4 Stunden auf 160 oder \' Stunden auf 200 erhitzt. Das Reak tionsgemisch wird darauf im Vakuum destil liert. Nach einem grösseren Vorlauf von unverändertem Kohlenwasserstoff und Gro- tonaldehyd erhält man eine Hauptfraktion vom Kp. 15 60 bis 118 . Man destilliert sie noch mals.
Aus der so erhaltenen Fraktion vom Kp. 1;, 70 bis 110 wird der Aldehyd über die Bisttlfitverbindung rein gewonnen. Er zeigt den Siedepunkt Kp. 1; 83 bis 84 und stellt ein wasserhelles, bewegliches, lichtbrechendes <B>Öl</B> dar. Sein Geruch ist charakteristisch; er erinnert in starker Verdünnung an den von frischem Heu. Behandelt man den Vorlauf nochmals wie oben, so erhält man eine wei tere Alenge des Aldehyds.

It shows the boiling point bp 1; 83 to 84 and represents a water-white, mobile, light-refracting <B> oil </B>. Its smell is characteristic; in strong dilution it is reminiscent of that of fresh hay. If you treat the forerun again as above, you get a further aldehyde of the aldehyde.
