Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines neuen     Di:          methylphenyl-tetrahydrobenzaldehyds,    wel  ches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass     man     Zimtaldehyd mit 1 . 3 -     Dimethylbutadien          kondensiert.    Die neue Verbindung soll zur  Herstellung von Farbstoffen. pharmazeu  tischen Produkten und Riechstoffen verwen  det     werden.     



       Beispiel:     140 Gewichtsteile Zimtaldehyd werden  mit 200     Volumteilen    1     .3-Dimethvl-butadien     im Druckgefäss vier Stunden lang auf     ?00          C          l-rhltzt.    Das Reaktionsprodukt wird einer       Vakuumdestillation    unterworfen. Nach einem  Vorlauf unveränderter Materialien geht .ein  Rohprodukt bei     gp.        ,zi    149-165   C über.  Nach nochmaliger Destillation im Vakuum    ist: der     Aldehyd    völlig rein und siedet kon  stant bei Kp.     1E    156-l58   C.
