Description

Process for the production of a liquid, non-gelatinizing soap. For the production of liquid soaps, such as those used to fill soap dispensers, a potash soap was previously used to which appropriate amounts of glycerine, alcohol, sugar and potash solution were added to prevent gelatinization. These additives add significantly to the cost of the liquid soap and are also not useful for all uses of these soaps.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of a liquid, non-gelatinizing soap, in which ammonium thiosulfate is added to a liquid soap to prevent gelatinization. The ammonium thiosulfate can be added either dry or in solution.

As tests have shown, liquid soaps produced with the commercially available percentages of fatty acid are clear in appearance and extremely good foaming power after the addition of ammonium thiosulfate without any further addition of glycerine, alcohol, sugar and potash; they are storage-stable and do not thicken over time. They do not stick and have the advantage of being cheap over the hitherto customary ones.

For special purposes, the soaps to which ammonium thiosulphate has been added can of course also contain other additives of various substances that are indifferent to ammonium thiosulphate, such as glycerine, disinfectants and the like. Example: The amount of soap that has been obtained in a warm way from 500 kg of coconut oil, 65 kg of olein and 525 kg of caustic potash solution from 38) B6 , is mixed with a warm solution of 250 kg ammonium thiosulphate in 1750 liters of water while stirring.

It is then allowed to cool and any impurities are filtered off.
