Le crochet<I>f</I> présente un bec<I>f',</I> une perforation<I>f 2</I> et nu talon f 3 présentant une encoche f 4 (fig. 9).
Machine for making fringes. The present invention relates to a machine intended for the manufacture of fringes.
This machine is characterized by a hook gripping the weft thread, making it pass through the warp threads, pulling it in a loop and transporting the latter against the fringes already formed, by a carriage giving said hook a translational movement and, by bringing a roller which actuates it in contact with a driving wheel, a rotational movement which twists the loop, by means releasing the hook from the latter when the twisting is complete, and by other means pushing the fringes formed together against others.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention given by way of example.
Fig. 1 and 2 are a front view and a plan of part of the machine, and Fig. 3 and 4 a side view of this same part; Fig. 5 and 6 are a similar view, but in a different period of operation; Fig. 7 to 14 show, on a large scale, details of the machine, fig. 8 being a horizontal section along X-X of FIG. 7.
As we know, in a fi-ange, there is a head A (fig. 3), the designs of which vary according to the combination of the warp threads C and the weft threads or strands which must constitute the actual fringe B.
In addition, the chain threads C are separated by a series of heddles depending on the combination that is to be obtained, and a series of hooks rises in the interval.
In the example, to facilitate the description, only the work of a single hook has been considered.
As seen in Figs. 3 and 5, below the spools a bringing the weft threads b, are bars c provided with guides d each having an eye through which passes the corresponding weft thread b going to join the warp threads C at the in the right of the head 9. surmounting the fringe B already formed.
The chain threads C pass through a comb e established so as to be adjustable, as will be seen below. t1. the height of the weft threads b there is a hook f (fig. 9 and 11) carried by a rod q 'which is provided with a pinion g receiving the movement of another pinion h (fig. 7 and 9). .
The pinion h. is wedged on a vertical shaft i crossing a carriage <I> j </I> and fitted at its lower part with a friction roller Ic (fig. 1, 3 and 5).
The gears g and <I> la </I> are housed in a support 1 threaded onto a vertical cylindrical rod located (fig. 7, 8 and 9).
This rod is able to slide through the carriage j; it exceeds the latter below and rests on a lever n via a pin ml capable of moving in a slide <I> 0 </I> made in said lever iz.
The rod m is provided with a shoulder I0 capable of driving during the ascent of this rod the support 1 and all the members attached to it.
The support <I> 1, </I> although driven by the rod iii, can slide on the latter to the top. This movement is intended to accompany the withdrawal in length of the <B> B </B> strand when it twists. A spring o accompanies this movement and returns the support 1 to its original position when the twist hook f leaves the strand B.
A console p (fig. 4 and 6) is intended to stop the stroke of the rod m through the intermediary of the lever ï ?, and consequently that of the hook f to obtain a given length of fringe. As the vertical movement of the rod ni is sometimes ended before the horizontal movement of the carriage j, the console p carries a raised part on which the elbow of the lever îz is able to slide horizontally.
The console p is fitted with an adjustable stop <I> p '</I> against which the lever ii rests. The hook <I> f </I> has a beak <I> f ', </I> a perforation <I> f 2 </I> and a heel f 3 presenting a notch f 4 (fig. 9).
The body f of this very flat hook is housed in a groove q presented by the rod q 'and is held by a pin r on which it can pivot, while the spout f' crosses the rod q 'in a flat q2 passing in a light q3 made for this purpose through, through this rod.
Ears s, forming part of a sleeve s 'threaded freely on the rod q', receive the heel f 3 of the hook; this assembly is held by a pin s =.
Finally, a pin t, engaged in the rod q 'and capable of sliding in opposite slots s3 formed in the bush', receives the pressure of a coil return spring zc pressing on the other hand against a head s4 forming part of this socket.
It follows from this arrangement that, when the pin t rises, the hook f opens, while when this pin is released, this hook closes under the action of the coil return spring u.
The sleeve is fixed on an axis g 'so lidaire of the pinion, q. A plate r (fig. 7, 8 and 9) threaded on the sleeve s 'and on the pin x6 above a ramp sleeve x4 is likely to act on the pin t to open the hook f when' there occurs. This socket x4 is provided with an arm x and is actuated by means of a roller y and a cam z via a pivot lever iv (fig. 4 and 6).
The carriage j is able to move between lateral slides j '(fig. 1, 3 and 5) under the traction of a spring 1 and can bring the roller k of the rod <I> i </I> cry contact with a friction wheel 2 receiving a rotary movement - "- continrr of a grooved pulley 3. A cam 4 and the set of levers x <I> il 2 </I> as well as a connecting rod re bring back the the whole of the carriage j in the position it occupies in fig. 4.
The adjustable comb e comprises two net colon e 'forming pins on which are threaded alternately the strips of this comb and interchangeable washers e2 forming spacers, the thickness of which is chosen according to the size of the chain threads entering the chain. making the fringe. _ Nuts e3 engaged on the threaded upper part of the columns el make it possible to tighten everything together.
The machine also includes a positive strand pick-up device (fig. 13 and 14), intended to prevent the already twisted strands B from engaging in the strands being twisted.
This device comprises a rod 5 which can rotate in a bar 6 and provided over its length with a flexible blade 7, the; height is adjustable on the rod 5, a pin 8, a stop pin 9 and a coil return spring 10. A hook 11 receiving a longitudinal movement of the leaf carrying the combs is likely to come. act on the middle pin 8 to rotate the device around its axis in order to make the pick-up blade 7 act as will be seen below.
This 'machine works as follows: The hook f being at the top of the chain C above the weft thread b, the horizontal movement of one of the bars c brings this thread under the beak f' of the hook f. Then, in its downward movement, this hook <I> f </I> carries the yarn <I> b </I> under the series of warp yarns C at a distance equal to the length of the fringe B to obtain.
While the hook f operates its downward movement, it is moved horizontally by the carriage j actuated by the spring 1; the horizontal movement of this carriage causes the hook f to descend using the <I> ri </I> lever attached to this carriage.
The resultant of the horizontal movement and of the vertical movement which we have just spoken of is an oblique translation of the hook f which brings it vertically under the part already finished of the fringe B in manufacture.
At this moment, the roller 7c comes into contact with the wheel 2 receiving a continuous rotary movement of the pulley 3.
The hook f is then set in a rotational movement and twists the loop formed by the weft thread folded in half, so as to form the fringe B. When the desired number of twisting turns is obtained, a finger x1 (fig. . 1), mounted in an adjustable way on a bar x2, push the arm x (fig. 5) and open the hook f thus leaving free the finished fringe, and this by rotating around a pin x6 the x ° ramp bush which rests on a fixed x5 bush.
The machine has devices which, during the rotation of the hook f, change the direction of the warp threads c and cross them.
The cam 4 recalls the carriage j and the hook f goes up in the gap left between the threads to go again hook a weft thread b and repeat the same operation.
When a weft strand b has just been twisted by the hook f which has not yet left it, this strand is behind the blade 7; at this time the hook 11 grips the pin 8 and drives the strand catcher. Under this force the blade 7, given its flexibility, passes behind the strand, the hook 11 leaves the pin 8, the twisting hook f leaves the strand and by the effect of the spring 10 the blade 7 returns to its starting point causing the strand .B finished forward, which prevents the already twisted strands from coming to engage in the strands being twisted.
The shapes, details, accessories, materials and dimensions of this machine can of course vary.
This machine can produce four, six or more pieces of fringes at the same time; moreover, it is possible to obtain simultaneously on each part different fringes of height, combination and color; the twist and the number of weft threads or strands woven in a single passage through the warp can also vary without having to add or remove any component to the machine, but simply by making an adjustment organs of the corresponding element.
Each element can include at will one, two or three hooks depending on the number of weft threads or strands that it is desired to weave at the same time and then twist at the same time.
