Le dessin annexé représente une forme d'exécution de l'invention, donnée à titre d'exemple. La fig. 1 en .est une coupe suivant le plan brisé A-B-C de fig. 2; La fi,,. 2 en est une vue partielle en plan avec une coupe partielle selon D-B de fig. 1;
Combined explosive engine carburettor to operate with gasoline and heavy oil. The object of the present invention is a carburetor for engines: with .explosions combined to operate with gasoline and heavy oil.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the invention, given by way of example. Fig. 1 in. Is a section along the broken plane A-B-C of fig. 2; The fi ,,. 2 is a partial plan view with a partial section along D-B of FIG. 1;
fig. 3 is a lateral elevation with partial section; fig. 4 is a section along the plane H -I -de fig. 2,. And fig. 5 is a section along the plane I'-G: of FIG. 4.
The carburetor shown comprises a central body 1, made of cast iron with two tanks at constant level, including the one on the left 2, for: heavy oil and that on the right 2 'for gasoline. These tanks are of current construction and each comprise a float 3 resp. 3 ', a cover 4 rësp. 4 ', rocking levers 5 resp. 5 'and a needle 6 resp. 6 '. The arrival of oil in the tank 2 is made through the pipe 7 and the arrival of gasoline in the tank 2 ': takes place through the pipe 7'.
The central body 1 is generally cylindrical in shape. It is provided at its upper part with a flange 8 for fixing. from the carburetor to the flange of the engine suction pipe. In the interior of the cylinder there is a throttle valve 9 and a variable-section diffuser 10. The base 11 constitutes a support for the nozzle placed in the axis of the cylinder. This com munic bottom with three adjustable channels, the first 12 for the arrival of oil, the second 13 for the arrival of gasoline and the third 14 for the arrival of hot air under pressure.
Each of these channels is provided with a needle for adjusting the admission into the nozzle, which is composed: in turn of three concentric tubes, namely the central tube 15, for the oil, the tube 16 for the hot air under pressure and tube 17 for gasoline. These tubes are screwed into the support 11 so that they can be easily removed for cleaning. The needle 18, for adjusting the oil intake, is housed in a vertical ale = sage 19 and adjusts the orifice 20 -d'admission oil. When the cavity of the plug 21 is filled, the oil passes through the Channel 12 and accumulates in the cavity of the plug 22 from where it is sucked by vacuum in the tube 15 of the nozzle.
The needle 23 for adjusting the admission of gasoline is housed in a vertical bore 24 and acts on the orifice 25 for the admission of gasoline, coming from the tank 2 '. From the cavity .du plug 26, gasoline rises through channel 13 and collects in the lower part 27 of the nozzle tube 17.
On the other hand, the essenae fills the bore 24 and passes through the opening 28 in the bore 29 for supplying the idling jet 30. The section of the part 31 (FIG. 4) is as shown in fig. 5 at the place corresponding to the passage of light 28 in. the bore 29 through the orifice 32. The bore 29 is extended by a channel 33, which ends in the nozzle 30 and which is provided with an adjusting needle 34.
The preheated pressurized air enters the carburetor through the orifice 35 provided with a needle 36 automatically adjusted from the throttle shaft 9. The hot pressurized air then passes through the channel 37 which communicates with the channel 14 terminating between the concentric tubes 15 and 16 of the central nozzle.
The butterfly shaft 38 is housed in two cast iron bearings with the body 1 of the carburetor. One of the ends of this shaft which controls the needle 36 presents at. this effect an eccentric reinforcement 39 and is provided with a control lever 40 mechanically operated .depuis the accelerator pedal. The other end is provided with a fixing nut 41 provided with a positive clearance device.
The needles 1.8 and 23 for adjusting the oil and gasoline intake are controlled simultaneously by a device which comprises a lever with three arms which can oscillate on a journal 42. The arm 43 acts on the needle 18 and the arm 44 on the needle 23 while the arm 45, perpendicular to the first two, serves as a control lever actuated from the driver's seat. The ends of the arms 43 and 44 are for views of adjustable contact screws 46. The arm 44 presses on a sleeve 47 .in which the rod 23 of the needle plays, so that before the closing of the needle 23, the sleeve 47 first closes the light 228 communicating with the bore 29 for the supply. of the idle jet. The needles and the barrel 47 are provided with return springs.
In the position of the three-arm lever of the sinée in fig. 1, the carburetor works with heavy oil and gasoline; by moving the central lever 45 to. left, the needle 18 closes the oil intake so that the carburetor works only with gasoline and vice versa, by operating lever 45 to the right, it is the gasoline intake which is stopped for the closing of the needle 23.
The described carburetor operates as follows. The hot pressurized air arrives through channel 3 "7 and enters through channel 14 into the tube 16 of the central nozzle, driving on one side gasoline, the admission of which is regulated by the needle 23 and which enters through the channel 13 in the nozzle tube 17 and on the other side the heavy oil which enters through the channel 12 into the nozzle tube 15. The compressed air produces a vacuum in the two tubes 13 and 12 and entrains the 'gasoline and oil are fueled in a fine, thoroughly stirred mixture which passes through the adjustable diffuser 10 and exits through the upper end into the suction pipe connected to the flange 8.
During this carburetion, the butterfly 9 is open so that the eccentric part 39 of the shaft 38 discharges the needle 36 which opens, under the action of the return spring, the entry of hot air under pressure into the led 37.
Once the engine has started, you can run only on heavy oil; in this case, the mechanic, from his seat, actuates the three-arm lever by pulling the lever 45 to the right. The screw 46 weighs on the sleeve 47 which first obstructs the opening 28 and then applies the needle 28 to the orifice 25, intercepting the communication between the constant-level tank 2 'and the nozzle.
For walking, of the engine with gasoline alone, the operation of the three-arm lever is effected by moving the lever 45 to the left. The orifice 20 is closed by the needle 18, so that the communication between the constant level tank 2 and the channel 12 is intercepted.
For oil and gasoline operation, the three-arm lever can be adjusted by screws 46 in order to establish the correct proportion of the mixture.
The carburization is excellent because the pipe 37 runs along the constant level vessel 2 and the hot air under pressure heats the oil contained in said vessel. Likewise, by virtue of the diffuser 10 with adjustable section, it is possible: to obtain, by operating the control ba gue 48, sections of sizes proportional to the rotational speed of the engine.
