Abstract

La présente invention concerne une composition de traitement à base d'eau destinée aux surfaces métalliques contenant de l'eau, (A) de la résine uréthane, ou de la résine acrylique, dissoutes, dispersées, ou les deux; ou à la fois de la résine uréthane et de la résine acrylique; (B) des molécules de catalyseur chimique dissoutes, dispersées, ou les deux; (C) de la poudre de silice dissoute; (D) de la cire de polyéthylène oxydée dispersée présentant une dimension granulométrique moyenne comprise entre 0,01 et 0,2 µm; et (E) des molécules dissoutes, dispersées, ou les deux, correspondant généralement à la formule chimique (I) dans laquelle R?1¿ représente une fraction alkyle C¿1?-C¿20? ou une fraction alcényle C¿2?-C¿20?; R?2¿ représente un bloc homo-oligomère d'oxyéthylène ou un bloc co-oligomère d'oxyéthylène et d'oxypropylène, correspondant à la formule chimique -(C¿2?H¿4?O)¿m?-(C¿3?H¿6?)¿n?-, dans laquelle m représente un nombre entier compris entre 5 et 20 et n représente un nombre entier compris entre 0 et 10; R?3¿ représente une fraction hydrogène ou SO¿3?M, M représentant un atome d'hydrogène, un ion métallique alcalin, ou un ion d'ammonium; R?4¿ représente un atome d'hydrogène, une fraction alkyle C¿1?-C¿4?, ou une fraction alcényle C¿2?-C¿4?. La composition contient ces composants dans des proportions telles que: le total des solides des composants (A) et (B) constitue entre 50 et 95 % en poids du total des solides des composants de (A) à (E); les solides du composant (C) constituent entre 3 et 40 % en poids du total des solides des composants (A) à (E); le total des solides des composants (D) et (E) constitue entre 2 et 20 % en poids du total des solides des composants (A) à (E); et le rapport en poids entre les solides du composant (A) et les solides du composant (B) est compris entre 4:1.0 et 49:1.00. En outre, l'application de cette composition sur une surface métallique et son séchage sur place produit une excellente résistance à la corrosion dans les endroits abîmés, en plus d'une excellente résistance générale à la corrosion et une excellente adhérence à la peinture. Ce type de traitement est spécialement avantageux lorsqu'il est appliqué sur une couche de conversion au chromate déjà existante sur la surface métallique.
