processo a invenção indica os métodos de preparação, as propriedades, as composições farmacêuticas e os métodos de terapia utilizando clorinas e bacterioclorinas sulfonadas concebidas para a utilização em terapia foto dinâmica (pdt) de tecidos hiperproliferativos, tais como tumores, vasos sanguíneos hiperproliferativos e outros distúrbios ou anormalidades sensíveis à pdt. de maneira especial, descreve-se a síntese econômica em larga escala de clorinas e bacterioclorinas. as suas propriedades foram moldadas para atingirem as de fotossensibilizadores ideais em pdt. numa outra parte da patente, indicam-se as composições farmacêuticas e os métodos terapêuticos para administração sistêmica. ainda numa outra parte, indicam-se também as composições farmacêuticas e os métodos terapêuticos para administração tópica. para além disso, indica-se um método de marcação e obtenção de imagem de um tecido alvo por fluorescência e ressonância magnética.
