Abstract

PROCESSO DE CO-PRODUÇÃO DE QUITINA, SEUS DERIVADOS E POLÍMEROS CONTENDO GLUCOSE, MANOSE E/OU GALACTOSE, POR CULTIVO DA LEVEDURA PICHIA PASTORIS A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para a coprodução de polímeros de glucosamina (quitina, quitosano ou qualquer um dos seus derivados), e de glucose, manose e galactose, por cultivo da levedura Pichia pastoris até elevadas densidades celulares em bio-reator em condições aeróbias, usando preferencialmente o subproduto da indústria do biodiesel rico em glicerol como principal fonte de carbono. Pode ainda ser utilizado glicerol de elevada pureza ou misturas contendo glicerol. A presente invenção diz ainda respeito a um processo de cultivo da levedura P. Pastoris devidamente otimizado para obtenção de elevada densidade celular e elevada percentagem mássica de quitina na parede celular, assim como de polímeros contendo glucose, manose e/ou galactose.
