Abstract

"ESPéCIES LEVEDURAS GENETICAMENTE MODIFICADAS E PROCESSOS DE FERMENTAçãO UTILIZANDO LEVEDURA GENETICAMENTE MODIFICADA". Células leveduras são transformadas com um gene xilose isomerase exógeno. Modificações genéticas adicionais acentuam a capacidade das células transformadas para fermentar xilose a etanol ou outros produtos de fermentação desejados. Essas modificações incluem a deleção de gene(s) aldose redutase não-específicos ou específicos, a deleção de gene(s) xilitol desidrogenase e/ou a superexpressão de xiluloquinase.
