Abstract

"LIGA DE ARMAZENAMENTO DE HIDROGêNIO". Composições de liga de armazenamento de hidrogênio eletroquímica e térmica que proporcionam desempenho superior, incluindo uma liga de armazenamento de hidrogênio eletroquímica que proporciona melhores características de descarga a baixas temperaturas. A composição de liga inclui microestruturas na região de interface que são altamente porosas e que incluem partículas metálicas catalíticas. As microestruturas incluem uma grande fração volumétrica de vazios que têm formas esférica ou de canal e que são suficientemente abertos estruturalmente para favorecer maior mobilidade das espécies reativas dentro da microestrutura e nas proximidades das partículas metálicas catalíticas. Isto resulta em maior acessibilidade aos sítios reativos de forma correspondente. A maior mobilidade de espécies reativas e/ou maior densidade de partículas catalíticas levam a uma cinética mais ativa e melhor desempenho (por exemplo, maiores potências, especialmente a baixas temperaturas operacionais. As microestruturas podem ser formadas pela inclusão de um elemento de ajuste da microestrutura na composição da liga, pelo controle das condições de processamento e/ou pela inclusão de etapas de ataque químico no processamento pós-formação das ligas de armazenamento de hidrogênio.
