Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"ARTIGOS ORGâNICOS"<D>. A invenção refere-se a novos materiais compósitos compreendendo: (a) um material em bruto orgânico ou inorgânico tendo ligadas covalentemente à sua superfície porções de iniciadores para polimerização de radical; e (b) um revestimento de superfície hidrofílico obtenível aplicando um ou mais macromonómeros da fórmula (1) hidrofílico, etilenicamente insaturados, mais diferentes, como descrito nas reivindicações, à superfície de materiais em massa providos com os radicais de iniciadores e polimerizando referidos macromonómeros. Os materiais compósitos da invenção têm características desejáveis com respeito à aderência ao substrato, durabilidade, hidrofilicidade, umectabilidade, biocompatibilidade e permeabilidade e, assim, são utilizáveis para a fabricação de artigos biomédicos como dispositivos oftálmicos.
