Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA REVESTIMENTO DE UMA SUPERFìCIE DE MATERIAL". A invenção refere-se a um processo para o revestimento de uma superfície de material compreendendo as etapas de: (a) reação da superfície de material com um composto da fórmula em que as variáveis são como definidas nas reivindicações; (b) reação da superfície assim modificada com um iniciador de polimerização funcional tendo um grupo funcional que é co-reativo para com L~ 2~ ou L~ 2~^ 1^; e (c) aplicação de um ou mais macromonómeros ou monómeros hidrofílicos etilenicamente insaturados diferentes à superficie de material de carga obtenível de acordo com a etapa (b) e polimerização dos ditos macromonómeros, pelo que provendo revestimento de superfície de preferência hidrofílico sobre a superfície de material. Materiais de compósito obteníveis de acordo com o processo da invenção têm características desejáveis com relação a aderência ao substrato, durabilidade, hidrofilicidade, umectabilidade, biocompatibilidade e permeabilidade e são assim úteis para a fabricação de artigos biomédicos tais como dispositivos oftálmicos.
