Abstract

"PROCESSO EM UM RECEPTOR, RECEPTOR QUE RECEBE SINAIS TRANSMITIDOS AO LONGO DE UM CANAL DE COMUNICAçõES, E, PROCESSO DE EQUALIZAçãO PARA EQUALIZAR SINAIS RECEBIDOS". A presente invenção provê um procedimento ótimo para determinar, no domínio do tempo, coeficientes de equalizador para um equalizador, onde o equalizador compensa quanto aos efeitos do canal de comunicações no sinal transmitido. Um pulso unitário é transmitido ao longo do canal de comunicações, e uma resposta ao impulso de canal é estimada a partir do sinal recebido. Uma função de custo estabelece um erro médio quadrático associado à resposta ao impulso de canal estimada, se comparada a um sinal de resposta ao impulso desejado. O valor da função de custo varia, baseado em um valor de deslocamento entre a resposta ao impulso de canal estimada e uma resposta ao impulso de canal equalizada. Valores da função de custo são determinados para diferentes deslocamentos, e o deslocamento que produz o valor de função de custo menor (correspondendo ao erro médio quadrático mínimo) é selecionado. Os coeficientes de equalizador ótimos são então calculados usando o deslocamento selecionado e a função de custo estabelecida. Em uma realização preferida, a invenção é aplicada a sistemas de modulação multiportadora. Ainda mais, a função de custo é definida como uma função krakoviana que depende do valor de deslocamento. Aquela função krakoviana inclui um primeiro krakoviano que usa a resposta ao impulso de canal e um segundo krakoviano que usa a auto correlação da resposta ao impulso de canal. Usando o primeiro e segundo krakovianos e o deslocamento selecionado correspondendo ao valor mínimo da função de custo estabelecida, os coeficientes de equalizador ótimos são determinados em um cálculo direto, de uma etapa.
