resumo patente de invenção: "método para preparar partículas de óxidos de metais de alta pureza e materiais feitos delas". a presente invenção refere-se a um método de preparar partículas de óxidos de metais e óxidos de metais mistos. o método inclui tratar uma mistura formada a partir de uma fonte de metal, tal como o alcóxido de metal, um tensoativo, e um primeiro álcool, em um meio aquoso, em um rendimento de óxido de metal muito alto. a mistura é reagida usando um catalisador para formar partículas de óxidos de metais tendo um tamanho de partícula desejado na dita mistura. por lavagem das partículas com um solvente aprótico, o teor de carbono residual das partículas pode ser significativamente reduzido. o método é particularmente adequado para formar partículas de sílica. as partículas de óxido de metal podem então ser tratadas com calor para formar óxidos de metais fundidos sintéticos, tais como, por exemplo, a sílica fundida sintética.
