composição de vidros bicativos, sua utilização e respectivo ~ método de obtenção a presente invenção diz respeito a urn conjunto de composições de vidros e vitrocerârnicos bioativos capazes de desenvolverem urna camada superficial de hidroxiapatite carbonatada ao fim de urna hora de imersão em fluido fisiológico simulado (sbf). tais composições podem incluir fluoretos, e urna variedade de óxidos ( ou compostos seus precursores), tais corno na20 - ag20 - sro - cao - mgo - zno - p20s - si02 - bi203 - b203 - caf2, fusão ou pelo processo sol-gel, serem sendo preparadas por a composição específica e o método de preparação selecionados de acordo corn as funcionalidades pretendidas, podendo apresentar taxas de biodegradação controladas e atividade antibacteriana. os pós-derivados dos vidros fundidos e arrefecidos em água (fritas) podem densificar completamente a booºc sem desvitrificar, resultando em corpos corn elevada resistência mecânica à flexão (-85 mpa). os pós de biovidros preparados por sol-gel densificam a temperaturas mais baixas devido à sua maior área específica e reatividade mais elevada.
