Abstract

"REDUçãO DA EMISSãO DE ALDEìDOS PARA PLáSTICOS CLARIFICADOS COM DIBENZILIDENO SORBITOL". Descreve-se um aditivo que é usado em conjunto com certos clarificadores do tipo dibenzilideno sorbitol (DBS) e lavadores de ácidos em resinas de poliolefina para reduzir a liberação de aldeídos de material do tipo polipropileno. Hidrazidas mostraram ser eficazes para remover aldeído residual de poliolefinas, tal como polipropileno. Esta função pode ser realizada com um impacto mínimo sobre as propriedades transparentes óticas conferidas ao polipropileno pelo agente clarificante. O efeito real é uma melhora no desempenho organoléptico de resinas que contêm clarificadores, e uma redução de extraíveis absorvedores de UV. Particularmente, a dihidrazida adípica, quando incorporada em homopolímero de polipropileno com 4-metil DBS, melhora o desempenho organoléptico do clarificador. A incorporação de dihidrazidas em pelotas de polipropileno reduziu a quantidade de aldeído liberado no ar em quase 100%.
