Abstract
"ASA EM VEìCULO DE EFEITO TERRESTRE COM CHAPAS DE EXTREMIDADE". A invenção refere-se a uma asa em um veículo de efeito terrestre que possui chapas de extremidade (17) nas extremidades das asas (3). Estas se estendem abaixo da fuselagem (2) e são projetadas para uma submersão constante durante um vóo sobre a água. O nariz de cada chapa de extremidade (17) é projetado de modo a gerar uma supercavidade que se estende no comprimento da chapa de extremidade (17) a uma velocidade de cruzeiro. A fim de facilitar o aumento da supercavidade a velocidades menores, cristas salientes podem ser providas a jusante a partir de cada nariz. Pelo menos as porções traseiras das chapas de extremidade (17) são lateralmente deslocáveis (por exemplo, devido a um movimento de pivó sobre um eixo geométrico vertical) a fim de evitar danos às chapas de extremidade (17) pela pressão da água quando o veículo faz um percurso em um ângulo de guinada. Esta "arfagem" das chapas de extremidade (17) alinha as mesmas com o fluxo de água e permite que as mesmas sejam mais estreitas.
