Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA DESCROMAR E/OU DESNIQUELAR ESCóRIAS LìQUIDAS". Em um processo para descromar e/ou desniquelar escórias líquidas ou misturas de escórias, no qual a escória líquida é colocada em um banho metálico, particularmente banho de Fe, e reduzida por meio de introdução de carbono ou suportes de carbono, a introdução de carbono no banho metálico é efetuada até uma redução do teor de óxido de Cr e/ou de Ni da escória até um valor entre 0,8% em peso e 0,2% em peso. Quando alcançada a obtenção da faixa de teor de óxido de Cr da escória, dada anteriormente, é adicionado agente de redução com potencial de redução mais elevado, tal como por exemplo Al, Ca, Si, Fe-Si ou Ca-Si, para a redução do teor de óxido de Cr e/ou Ni para menos de 0,15% em peso, de preferência menos de 0,08% em peso.
