Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para descromar y/o desniquelar escorias en estado líquido o mezclas de escorias, en el cual la escoria en estado líquido escargada a un bano de metal fundido, en particular un bano de hierro fundido, y reducida por la ali mentacion de carbono o portadores de carbono, la alimentacionde carbono al bano de metal se efectua hasta obtener una disminucion de los contenidos de oxidos de Cr y/o Ni de la escoria a un valor comprendido entre 0,8%en peso y 0,2% en peso. Cuando s e alcanza el valor predeterminado de contenido de oxido de Cr en la escoria, se agregan agentes reductores con mayorespotenciales de reduccion, como ser por ejemplo Al, Ca, Si, Fe-Si o Ca-Si, para disminuir los contenidos de oxidos de Cr y/o Ni a val ores menores que 0,15% enpeso, preferiblemente menores que 0,08% en peso.
