Abstract
En un procedimiento para descromar y/o desniquelar escorias liquidas o mezclas de escorias, en el cual las escorias liquidas se disponen en un bano de metal, en particular un bano de Fe, y se reducen mediante la introduccion de carbono o portadores de carbono, la introduccion de carbono al bano de metal se realiza hasta un decremento del contenido de oxido de Cr y/o Ni de la escoria a un valor entre 0.8% en peso y 0.2% en peso. Al alcanzar el intervalo predeterminado de contenido de oxido de Cr de la escoria, se agrega un agente de reduccion con un mayor potencial de reduccion, tal como Al, Ca, Si, Fe-Si o Ca-Si, con el fin de reducir el contenido de oxido de Cr y/o Ni a menos de 0.15% en peso, de preferencia a menos de 0.08% en peso.
