Abstract

"PROCESSO CONTìNUO PARA PRODUZIR áCIDO ACéTICO MEDIANTE REAçãO DE METANOL COM MONóXIDO DE CARBONO EM UM MEIO LìQUIDO DE REAçãO". O método da presente invenção propicia um aperfeiçoamento em relação a métodos de carbonilação de metanol do estado da técnica que substancialmente reduz a produção de impurezas de carbonila. Foi verificado que a produção de impurezas de carbonila, especialmente acetaldeído, crotonaldeído e 2-etil crotonaldeído, em reações de carbonilação de metanol, diminui mediante manutenção de aproximadamente 5% em peso ou menos de iodeto metílico no meio de reação durante o decorrer da reação.
