Abstract

"CARBONILAçãO DE METANOL NA PRESENçA DE UM SISTEMA CATALìTICO DE ìON DE IODETO/IRìDIO/RóDIO". A presente invenção provê um processo para a carbonilação de um álcool, éter ou éster em produtos que compreendem um ácido carboxílico, o seu anidrido ou coprodução do ácido carboxílico e anidrido. Mais particularmente, a presente invenção provê um processo para a carbonilação de metanol para produzir ácido acético por reação de metanol com monóxido de carbono em um meio de reação líquido contendo um catalisador compreendendo ródio, irídio, íon de iodeto, e o referido meio de reação compreendendo ainda água, ácido acético, iodeto de metila, e acetato de metila e recuperando subseq³entemente ácido acético do produto de reação resultante.
