Abstract
ADSORVENTES DE DIóXIDO DE CARBONO CONTENDO óXIDO DE MAGNéSIO ADEQUADO PARA USO SOB ALTAS TEMPERATURAS E PROCESSO DE SUA FABRICAçãO. A adsorção de dióxido de carbono de fluxos de gás sob temperaturas na faixa de 300 a 500°C é realizada com um adsorvente sólido contendo óxido de magnésio, preferivelmente promovido com um carbonato ou bicarbonato de metal alcalino de modo que a proporção atómica de metal alcalino para magnésio é na faixa de 0,006 a 2,60. Adsorventes preferidos são feitos do precipitado formado pela adição de metal alcalino e íons de carbonato a uma solução aquosa de um sal de magnésio. Proporções atómicas de metal alcalino para magnésio podem ser ajustadas lavando o precipitado com água. Adsorventes de área de superfície de baixo teor podem ser feitos pela deshidratação e remoção de CO~ 2~ de hidroxicarbonato de magnésio, com ou sem a promoção do metal alcalino. O processo é especialmente valioso nas operações de adsorção por alternância de pressão.
