CONVEYORS WITH ENDLESS PLATE APRON.
The invention relates to a conveyor with endless apron with plates comprising side chains and rollers whose axes are fixed in supports forming part of the apron. Due to the great fatigue of these conveyors, it is necessary, from time to time to time to replace parts subject to heavy wear. In addition, bending of the axes of the rollers can occur, making their replacement necessary. In the known devices, the replacement of the axes is difficult, since they get stuck by rust or otherwise. - mining, particularly in the case of transporters used in underground mining installations.
By the invention, the replacement of damaged roller shafts is notably facilitated by the reason that the brackets are attached to a continuous strut or cross member, that they are split longitudinally like an adapter sleeve, the two parts or cheeks of the spacer. these supports being able to be brought together or separated from one another by at least one releasable locking member. For replacement of the axis 19 of the roller 19 the locking member is loosened and the cheeks of the support are moved apart from each other by means of a tool. At the same time, the locking member can serve to prevent rotation of the axle and its disengagement.
The carrier object of the invention is particularly advantageous for conveyors of the type in which the pins are integral with the rollers and must be replaced at the same time as the latter.
The fixed mounting of the supports slit longitudinally on the ends of the spacers leads to a particular method of fixing the chains to the spacers To avoid weakening the end of the spacer a flange of the chain link is rigidly connected each time.

at this end, while the other flange, and in particular the one on the outside, is attached in a removable manner to allow the replacement of parts or sections of the string, however, taking bearing on the horizontal flange of the section forming the spacer.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of examples, several embodiments of the invention.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show, respectively in side view, in plan and in cross section, a conveyor with endless apron with plates and with superimposed strands.
Figs. 4 and 5 show details of the shape of the support.
Figs. 6 and 7 show, respectively in cross section and in side view, the fixing of the rollers and of a spacer on a plate of the apron according to another embodiment.
Figs. 8 and 9 similarly show the attachment of rollers, struts and chains to one side of the carrying strand of the deck when using a strut having another cross section.
In the embodiment of the fige. 1 to 5, the carrier plates 2 are fixed between the chain links 1 arranged laterally. The plate carriage 2 with the side chains 1 is provided with rollers 3 and support rollers 4. The rollers 3 are placed at large intervals from each other, while the support rollers 4 are fixed in such a way. that only those of the upper strand roll on the rails of the frame of the transport. tor 5 or only come into contact with these rails 5, in the event of overloading and enlargement of the boom.
The trough-shaped plates 2 rest on a spacer 6 which is formed by a T-profile. On the spacer are rigidly fixed, near the ends, the inner flanges 7 of the chain links.
The outer flange 9 bears against the side face of the vertical chord 8 of the spacer 6. The horizontal flange 10 of the spacer rests on the outer flange 9 or passes through an opening provided therein.
On the upper face of the horizontal wing 10 are fixed flanges 11 between which the axes 12 of the rollers 3 or of the support rollers 4 can be clamped.
The cheeks 11 are separated from each other on the upper part of the support by a slit formed over the entire length of the latter as in a tightening sleeve. The two cheeks of the support can be brought together by the screw 14 which is housed in part in a notch of the axle 12 and thus prevents the latter from rotating or coming out.
For the example according to figs. 6 and 7, openings in the vertical frame 8 are provided by cutting openings at the ends of the spacer 6.
In these openings are fixed the cheeks 11.
The slots 13 of the supports are oriented downward with respect to the upper strand of the apron. The supports themselves lie between the longitudinal edges of the load-bearing plates approximately at the level of the spacerso
Near the cheeks 11, and more particularly on the side opposite to that where the roller 3 is located, the driving members and in particular the chain links 1 are established. The chains 1 are approximately at the same level as the spacers 6 and the supports.
While the inner flanges 7 are also rigidly connected to the profile of the spacer 6, the outer flanges are mounted in such a way that between them and the support 11 there remains an interval x which is equal to or greater than the thickness. of the flange, so that the flange 9 or the bolt or screw housed in this flange can be replaced without difficulty.
The example according to the freezes. 8 and 9 differs from that of figs.
6 and 7 by the fact that the spacer 6 is formed by a U-shaped profile
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the horizontal member is, to increase the moment of resistance, composed of ribs terminating at both ends near the supports 11 and whose vertical wings are also cut near the supports and, where appropriate, at the places where the chains 1 pass, these wings can also be curved laterally in these places.
