<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Automatic pressure closing device for tubes of toothpaste, cream or other".
The present patent refers to an automatic pressure closure device for tubes of toothpaste, cream or any other product, the contents of which are pushed out by means of a pressure exerted on the flexible walls of the tube or of the container. This device replaces the usual closure - or cap - which must be removed and replaced each time after use and which is very easily lost. The device in question, on the contrary, is fixed to the neck of the tube and is not
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
moved during use; application is made by the manufacturer who produces the toothpaste or the cream; in some cases it can even be an integral part of the tube.
This device releases the contents of a tube through a slit produced in the outer cap - this in most cases - slit which is usually blocked by a cover element pressing on it by means of a system. spring or any other similar system. The pressure exerted on the parts of the tube / is transmitted to the contents at the time of use is greater than the contrasting action of the springs and causes the closure element to move away from the element which makes part the slit, so that it opens and lets out the dough or cream. When the pressure on the tube these elastic system restores the original shape and the outlet orifice closes automatically.
Provision can be made for the pressure to cause the part in which the exit slot is placed to move relative to the closure element which is fixedly linked to the body of the tube. Likewise, a device can be constructed of which the closure element is movable, preferably in the form of a piston, the cap or the part where the exit slot is located remaining fixed. The present invention patent also proposes improvements aimed at providing this device with a safety closure system.
The attached drawing shows some embodiments of the invention, purely as an indication and not limiting, giving a side view with partial section, in order to highlight the characteristics of the internal parts, and in particular:
Figures 1 to 5 show embodiments using an internal piston exit orifice closure system, with variations in the construction of the safety closure system.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Figures 6 and 7 show the embodiment utilized the closure by means of the displacement of the outer cap, present in the closed position and open.
The fiugr 8 represents the model of fiuges 6 and 7 com pieted by a safety closure in the form of a band.
Figure 9 shows the enlargement of a detail of the section of the outlet port according to the model of figure 3.
In the models illustrated in Figures 1 to 5 the cap of the device is fixed and the exit slot is also fixed, while the closure member is movable.
In figure 1 which represents the simplest embodiment, the cap is constituted by a hollow cylinder 1 which by means of the thread 2 is mounted on the cone of the tube the e represents the slot opened in 1: inside cirucle the piston 4 supported by the spring 2 which forces the 1- + to block the orifice 3 If pressure is exerted on the contents of the tube, this causes the lifting of 4-: the orifice j s' or,% to let out the contents. When the pressure ceases, the spring returns to the initial position of 4 and the opening closes automatically.
In figure 2 the model illustrated in figure 1 e: completed by the application of a safety band ± provided with windows 2: the cap 1 is completed by an upper edge, preventing the band from coming undone: for prevent the contents from coming out thanks to an involuntary pressure, during transport of the tube for example, figures 1 and P provide 1 plication of the safety band ±: it will suffice, during use, to put the 7 to the height of 2 during transport it will suffice to rotate the belt ± until the 7 and the) no longer correspond.
In figure 3 the slot 2 is practiced in the outlet cone 2 of the tube, which is slightly constricted
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
at the base at point 10 in order to prevent the piston 4, pushed by, from falling inside the tube.
The cap therefore has the sole function of closing the tube and is applied to the 1 by means of the thread 2 which may have in 1 a length greater than that necessary for simple fixing: in this case, the parts, during use, appear as in Figure 3; we screw 1 until the end of the race, the position of 4 when the (as in the figure
3) is compressed, will become the one indicated in dotted lines and, as a result, 4 will no longer be able to open the orifice 3, which makes it possible to create a safety closure system.
In Figures 4 and 5 corresponding to the device ready for use and the device in the safety position, the outer cap 1 'is constituted by a cylindrical strip provided with an upper closure element 11 which can be more or less pushed towards the bottom (figure 5) so as to load the spring, - so that any internal pressure cannot open the port 3 In figures 6, 7, 8, the spring 5 actuates against the cap 13 which is movable and which under the action of the pressure lifts revealing the .1: the fixed closure element 4 is a cylindrical tube, screwed at the point on the cone
9 of the tube.
In figure 8 the safety band ± is retained in a similar way by the edge Il¯ of 1
The exit slit is preferably shaped as shown in Figure 9, at the edges 12 at an angle; in this way any dry product residue can be loosened more easily by the thrust of the fresh product leaving the tube.
It is obvious that any material can be used for the manufacture of these parts of the device: depending on the material used, the shape and dimensions of the device can undergo the appropriate adaptations, without going beyond the limits of protection. of the present invention.
