Tank feather. This invention relates to reservoir nibs in which a body, including the metal nib and the deformable container, is mounted in a socket constituting the outer casing and in which the metal nib can be removed. It relates to a feather of this type in which the inner body can take two external positions relative to the envelope; in one of these positions only the metal nib is outside the envelope (writing position), while in the other position the device for crushing the deformable container is also outside the envelope. envelope (pen filling position).
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example, a reservoir feather according to the invention, and FIG. 1 is an axial section in the closed position and not in use; Fig.2 is an external view, partly in section, of the nib in the use position; Fig. 3 is the side elevation of the feather to a position ready for filling; Fig.4 shows in detail, on a larger scale, the end of the nib on the side of the metal nib; Fig. 5 is the cross section, on a larger scale, established according to X-X to fig. 1.
The feather is formed by a hollow body 1 carrying fixed the metal feather 2 and comprising inside it a flexible container 3, for example made of rubber. This container 3 is flanked by a rigid rod 4, a middle portion 5 of which is accessible from the outside through an opening 6 made in the wall of the body 1.
The body 1 is housed in a sleeve 7 closed at one end by a bottom 8 and at the other end by a movable and pivoted cover 9.
The socket 7 has a slot 10 where a button 11 integral with the body 1 can move and in a recess formed in the socket 7 is housed an interrupted ring 12 provided with a gripping fin 12 'and which can leave the slot 10 free. or obstruct it. In the example shown, the cover 9 is pivoted on the edge of the socket 7 which is preferably lined with a ring 13, and this cover 9 is held in the closed position by a tooth 14 of an elastic blade 15 fixed to the socket 7 (FIG. 4) and also comprising a projection 16 intended to be encountered by the body 1 at the start of its movement for the opening of the pen.
The cover 9, which may be provided with a spring tending to keep it normally in the open position, is formed by a curved piece capable of being placed on the extension of the wall of the sleeve 7 while remaining applied against the body 1 when this is outside the socket.
When not in use, the nib is completely closed, the metal nib being retracted inside the socket 7 and the cover 9 being folded down.
To put the pen in a state of writing, we act on the button 11 to move it in the slot 10. The front end of the body 1 first acts on the projection 16 of the larva 15 and pushes it aside, releasing it. the cover 9 which can then open. The displacement of the body 1 causes the metal feather to come out of the socket 7 as shown in fig. 2. This movement is limited by the ring 12 which normally occupies the position visible in FIG. 5 for which it is arranged across the slot 10.
The stop to prevent the body 1 from moving back by the effect of the pressure of the metal nib on the paper can be established in any suitable known manner, for example by means of a spring carried by the body 1 and engaging in a groove or notch made inside the casing 7.
To fill the feather, the ring 12 is removed by acting on its beak 12 ', and the button 11 is pushed to the bottom of the slot 10, which has the effect of taking the body 1 almost completely out of the sleeve 7 (fig. 3). Then it is possible to crush, by acting on the button 5, the flexible container 3 and to fill it with ink by introducing the metallic nib into a container containing ink.
The cover 9 can be replaced by another type of closure, automatic or lion, and actuated or not by the displacement of the body 1 relative to the socket 7.
The reservoir nib described makes it possible to combine the advantages of the nibs with a retractable metal nib, with those of automatic filling, and this with a simple and solid construction and easy handling by the fact that the body of the nib is movably mounted axially to the inside a socket which is closed at both ends for the non-use position of the nib.
