Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Una planta o parte de planta que comprende un polinucleótido que codifica un polipéptido de celulosa sintasa (CESA) mutado; una variante de este, la expresión de dicho polinucleótido confiere a la planta o parte de planta tolerancia a herbicidas inhibidores de CESA, en donde la variante comprende uno o más de los siguientes motivos: i) motivo 1a: L[C/G/M/S][F/V/L/I]F[L/F][Q/H/R]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S/M/L][H/N]P[V/A][K/N/P/R/T/E][N/D]A[Y/F]P/G/A/T]LWL[T/V/I/L]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L/I/V/M]SW (SEQ ID Nº 99); preferentemente, el motivo es L[C/G/M/S][F/V/L/I]F[L/F][Q/H]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S/L][H/N]PV[K/N/P/R/T/E][N/D]A[Y/F][P/G/A/T]LWL[T/V/I/L]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L/I/V]SW (motivo 1b; SEQ ID Nº 100); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es L[C/G/M][F/V]F[L/F][Q/H]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S]HPV[K/N/R/E][N/D]AY[P/G/A]LWL[T/V]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L]SW (motivo 1c; SEQ ID Nº 101), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 8 y/o 23 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; ii) motivo 2a: YC[I/T/V/M/S/A]LPA[F/V/I]CL[I/L/F]T[D/N/G][R/K/T/Q]FI[I/V/T]P[E/A/Q/K][I/L][S/N/T]N[Y/F/L/I/A][A/E][S/G][I/M/L/A/V][W/C/F/L/V/I]F[I/M/L/V][L/S][L/S/A]F[I/V/A/L/S/M/G][S/C]I (SEQ ID Nº 102); preferentemente, dicho motivo es YC[I/T/V/M]LPA[F/V/I]CL[I/L/F]T[D/N/G][R/K/T/Q]FIIP[E/A/Q/K]ISN[Y/F/L/I][A/E][S/G][I/M/L/A/V][W/C/F]F[I/M/L][L/S]LF[I/V/A/L]SI (motivo 2b; SEQ ID Nº 103); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es YC[I/T/V/M]LPA[F/V/I]CL[I/L]T[D/N/G][R/K/T]FIIP[E/A]ISN[Y/F/L]A[S/G][I/M/L/A][W/C/F]F[I/M]LLF[I/V/A]SI (motivo 2c; SEQ ID Nº 104), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 4, 17 y/o 24 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; iii) motivo 3a: VIGG[T/V/I/A]S[A/S]H[L/F][F/L]A[V/L][F/V][Q/L]G[L/I/M][L/F]KV[L/F/I]AG[I/V][D/N/S/E/K]T[N/S]F[T/I]V[T/A]SK (SEQ ID Nº 105); preferentemente, dicho motivo es VIGG[T/V/I]SAHLFAVFQG[L/I]LKV[L/F]AGIDT[N/S]FTVTSK (motivo 3b; SEQ ID Nº 106); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es VIGGTSAHLFAVFQGLLKV[L/F]AGIDTNFTVTSK (motivo 3c; SEQ ID Nº 107), en donde el aminoácido en la posición, 1, 3, 18 y/o 28 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; iv) motivo 4a: A[V/I][N/S][S/N]G[Y/F][Q/D/E]SWGPL[F/M/L]G[K/R]L[F/L]F[A/S][L/I/F]WV[I/V][A/V/I/L]HLYPFLKG[L/M/V][L/M/V/I]G (SEQ ID Nº 108); preferentemente, dicho motivo es A[V/I]NSGYQSWGPL[F/M]GKL[F/L]F[A/S][L/I/F]WV[I/V][A/V/I/L]HLYPFLKGL[L/M]G (motivo 4b; SEQ ID Nº 109); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es A[V/I]NSGYQSWGPL[F/M]GKL[F/L]F[A/S][L/I/F]WV[I/V][A/V/L]HLYPFLKGL[L/M]G (motivo 4c; SEQ ID Nº 110), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 9, 12, 13, 15, 19 y/o 24 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; v) motivo 5a: [G/A][I/M/V][V/I]A/S/V]G[V/I/F]S[Y/T/D/N]A[V/I][N/S][S/N]G[Y/F] (SEQ ID Nº 111); preferentemente, dicho motivo es G[I/M/V]V[A/S]G[V/I/F]S[Y/T]A[V/I]NSGY (motivo 5b; SEQ ID Nº 112); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es GVVAG[V/I/F]SYAINSGY (motivo 5c; SEQ ID Nº 113), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 8 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; vi) motivo 6a: [V/I][I/V/L]VW[S/A][V/I/A]L[L/I][A/S]S[I/F][F/L][S/T][L/V][L/M]WV[R/K][I/V][N/D]PF (SEQ ID Nº 114); preferentemente, dicho motivo es V[I/V]VW[S/A][V/I/A]LLAS|FSL[L/M]WV[R/K]I[N/D]PF (motivo 6b; SEQ ID Nº 115); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es VVVW[S/A][V/I]LLASIFSL[L/M]WVRIDPF (motivo 6c; SEQ ID Nº 116), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 9, 11, 12 y/o 14 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; vii) motivo 7a: EI[L/F][L/F/M]S[R/K/N]HCP[I/L]WYGY[H/T/N/S/G][G/C][R/K/G]L (SEQ ID Nº 117); preferentemente, dicho motivo es EI[L/F][L/F]SRHCP[I/L]WYGY[H/T/N/S/G][G/C][R/K/G]L (motivo 7b; SEQ ID Nº 118); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es EILFSRHCP[I/L]WYGY[N/S/G]GRL (motivo 7c; SEQ ID Nº 119), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 5, 13, 15 y/o 16 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido; vii) motivo 8a: [F/L]KWT[A/S/T]LLI[P/T]P[T/M/L]T[V/I/L]L (SEQ ID Nº 120); preferentemente, dicho motivo es FKWT[A/S/T]LLIPPTT[V/I/L]L (motivo 8b; SEQ ID Nº 121); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es FKWT[A/S/T]LLIPPTT[V/I]L (motivo 8c; SEQ ID Nº 122), en donde el aminoácido en la posición 10 dentro de dicho motivo de la secuencia de tipo silvestre correspondiente se sustituye con cualquier otro aminoácido. Reivindicación 5: Una semilla capaz de germinar en una planta que comprende, en al menos algunas de sus células, un polinucleótido ligado operativamente a un promotor operable en células vegetales, en donde el promotor es capaz de expresar un polipéptido CESA mutado codificado por el polinucleótido, y la expresión del polipéptido CESA mutado confiere a la planta tolerancia a herbicidas inhibidores de CESA. Reivindicación 6: Una célula vegetal o una célula vegetal capaz de regenerar una planta que comprende, en al menos algunas de sus células, un polinucleótido ligado operativamente a un promotor operable en células vegetales, en donde el promotor es capaz de expresar un polipéptido CESA mutado codificado por el polinucleótido; la expresión del polipéptido CESA mutado confiere a la planta tolerancia a herbicidas inhibidores de CESA, y en donde la célula vegetal comprende el polinucleótido ligado operativamente a un promotor. Reivindicación 10: Un método para controlar malezas en un locus para el crecimiento de una planta; el método comprende: (a) aplicar una composición herbicida que comprende herbicidas inhibidores de CESA al locus; y (b) plantar una semilla en el locus, en donde la semilla es capaz de producir una planta que comprende, en al menos algunas de sus células, un polinucleótido ligado operativamente a un promotor operable en células vegetales, en donde el promotor es capaz de expresar un polipéptido CESA mutado codificado por el polinucleótido, y la expresión del polipéptido CESA mutado confiere a la planta tolerancia a herbicidas inhibidores de CESA, en donde el polipéptido CESA mutado comprende uno o más de los siguientes motivos: i) motivo 1a: L[C/G/M/S][F/V/L/I]F[L/F][Q/H/R]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S/M/L][H/N]P[V/A][K/N/P/R/T/E][N/D]A[Y/F][P/G/A/T]LWL[T/V/I/L]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L/I/V/M]SW (SEQ ID Nº 99); preferentemente, el motivo es L[C/G/M/S][F/V/L/I]F[L/F][Q/H]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S/L][H/N]PV[K/N/P/R/T/E][N/D]A[Y/F][P/G/A/T]LWL[T/V/I/L]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L/I/V]SW (motivo 1b; SEQ ID Nº 100); con mayor preferencia, el motivo es L[C/G/M][F/V]F[L/F][Q/H]YR[T/V/C/I][T/S]HPV[K/N/R/E][N/D]AY[P/G/A]LWL[T/V]SVICE[I/V]WFA[F/L]SW (motivo 1c;
