Abstract

Polinucleotidos y polipéptidos relacionados de la familia de genes ZmERECTA. Secuencias de ácidos nucleicos de los genes ZmERECTA. ZmERECTA es responsable del control del crecimiento de las plantas, el tamano de los organos y el rendimiento en plantas de cultivo. Reivindicacion 1: Un polinucleotido aislado caracterizado porque se selecciona del grupo que consiste en: a) un polinucleotido que tiene al menos 70% de identidad de secuencia, determinada con el algoritmo GAP con los parámetros por omision, con la secuencia completa de un polinucleotido seleccionado del grupo que consiste en SEQ ID N°: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23 y 25; donde el polinucleotido codifica un polipéptido que funciona como un modificador del tamano de los organos; b) un polinucleotido que codifica un polipéptido seleccionado del grupo que consiste en SEQ ID N°: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 y 26, y c) un polinucleotido seleccionado del grupo que consiste en SEQ ID N°: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23 y 25; y d) un polinucleotido que es complementario con el polinucleotido de (a), (b) o (c). Reivindicacion 3: Una célula huésped caracterizada porque comprende el cassette de expresion de la reivindicacion 2. Reivindicacion 4: Una planta transgénica caracterizada porque comprende el cassette de expresion recombinante de la reivindicacion 2. Reivindicacion: 8. Una semilla transgénica caracterizada porque proviene de la planta transgénica de la reivindicacion 4. Reivindicacion 9: Un método para modular el tamano de los organos en plantas, caracterizado porque comprende: a) introducir en una célula vegetal un cassette de expresion recombinante que comprende el polinucleotido de la reivindicacion 1 unido operativamente a un promotor; y b) cultivar la planta bajo condiciones apropiadas para cultivar células vegetales; donde se modula el tamano de los organos en dicha célula vegetal.
