Abstract
La presente se refiere de manera general al campo de la ingeniería genética y de la obtención de rasgos transgénicos para aplicaciones agronómicas. Más específicamente, la presente se refiere a un evento transgénico específico en cultivos agronómicos que mejora características vegetales. Aún más específicamente, la presente se refiere a un constructo polinucleotídico que comprende un gen de Arabidopsis thaliana. En particular, el constructo polinucleotídico de la presente comprende el gen AtBBX21 el cual codifica una proteína B-box de Arabidopsis thaliana. El evento transgénico de la presente incrementa el rendimiento verde y de semilla, reduce la fotoinhibición, mejora la eficiencia en el uso del agua, incrementa la producción de tubérculos y clorofila y mejora las tasas fotosintéticas, entre otros. El constructo polinucleotídico de la presente comprende una secuencia indicada como SEQ ID Nº 1. La presente también provee una planta transgénica transformada con dicho constructo polinucleotídico, en donde dicha planta exhibe características mejoradas. En una forma de realización particularmente preferida, la planta transgénica es una planta de papa (Solanum tuberosum) que sobreexpresa un gen de Arabidopsis thaliana, en donde dicha planta de papa exhibe características mejoradas.
