Abstract

Plantas tolerantes a herbicidas y métodos para controlar el crecimiento de malezas aplicando un herbicida al cual son tolerantes las plantas tolerantes a herbicidas de la solicitud. Las plantas de la solicitud pueden expresar una enzima Acetil-Coenzima A carboxilasa que es tolerante a la accion de los inhibidores de la enzima Acetil-Coenzima A carboxilasa. Reivindicacion 1: Un método para seleccionar mutantes de una ACCasa plastídica de monocotiledoneas con tolerancia a herbicidas caracterizado porque comprende: a) proveer células de plantas o tejido de una monocotiledonea; y b) cultivar dichas células de plantas o tejido en presencia de cicloxidim; donde dicha células de plantas o tejidos son tolerantes debido a una mutacion que no está presente en la ACCasa plastídica de monocotiledoneas antes del cultivo en presencia del cicloxidim.
