Abstract

Se proporcionan bebidas derivadas de la cebada caracterizada por niveles notablemente reducidos tanto de dimetil sulfuro (DMS) como de su precursor S-metil-L-metionina (SMM) o que carece de dichos compuestos. Métodos para producir las bebidas anteriormente mencionadas y también plantas de cebada útiles en la preparación de dichas bebidas, así como también otros productos vegetales preparados a partir de dichas plantas. La presente solicitud aclara la forma de llevar a cabo procedimientos de producción mejorados de bebidas con perfiles de sabor mejorados y también promesas de notables reducciones en la entrada de energía térmica para la producción de cerveza.
