Abstract

La presente provee métodos para la transformación medida por Agrobacterium de células o tejido de soja y la regeneración de las células o tejido transformados en plantas transformadas. Los métodos pueden ser utilizados para transformar muchos cultivares de soja. Reivindicación 1: Un método para transformar las células o tejido de soja, que comprende: (a) preparar una explanta a partir de una semilla de soja mediante: (i) la eliminación de un hipocótilo de dicha semilla de soja; (ii) la eliminación de un cotiledón junto con su yema axilar adyacente, dejando las hojas primarias unidas un cotiledón remanente; y (iii) la eliminación de una porción de una hoja primaria de dicho cotiledón remanente, generando de este modo una base de hoja primaria; y (b) co-cultivar dicha explanta con Agrobacterium que comprende al menos un ácido nucleico de interés a ser incorporado en un genoma de una o más células de soja. Reivindicación 19: Una planta de soja transgénica regenerada a partir de células o tejido de soja transformado de acuerdo con el método de la reivindicación 1. Reivindicación 20: Una semilla transgénica producida por la planta transgénica de la reivindicación 19.
