Definitions
- This disclosure relates to a wire harness.
- wire harnesses include a group of electric wires routed from the vehicle body to a door that can be opened and closed relative to the vehicle body (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
- the group of electric wires electrically connects a power supply device provided in the vehicle body to electrical equipment provided in the door.
- the door is equipped with electrical equipment such as a power window motor and a lock actuator, as well as a light-emitting element.
- the light-emitting element illuminates the area around the door when the door is in the open position, thereby assisting users when getting in and out of the vehicle.
- the electrical wires required for the light-emitting elements installed in the doors become longer.
- the electrical wires of the wire harness are connected to a connector installed in the door, and an electrical wire is required from the connector to the light-emitting elements, so the electrical wires required from the vehicle body to the light-emitting elements become longer.
- the door is a sliding door, the length of the electrical wires from the vehicle body to the door tends to be long, and therefore the electrical wires required from the vehicle body to the light-emitting elements become even longer.
- the purpose of this disclosure is to provide a wire harness that enables the reduction of electrical wires.
- the wire harness disclosed herein comprises a group of electric wires routed from the vehicle body to a door that can be opened and closed relative to the vehicle body, and a light-emitting member that illuminates the area around the door.
- the wire harness disclosed herein makes it possible to reduce the amount of electrical wire used.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a part of a vehicle according to an embodiment as viewed from above.
- FIG. 2 is a partially exploded perspective view of the wire harness according to the embodiment.
- FIG. 3 is a plan view for explaining the types of separate bear elements in one embodiment.
- FIG. 4 is a plan view for explaining the types of separate bear elements in one embodiment.
- FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a wire harness according to an embodiment.
- the wire harness of the present disclosure includes: [1]
- the vehicle includes a group of electric wires routed from the vehicle body to a door that can be opened and closed relative to the vehicle body, and a light-emitting member that illuminates the area around the door.
- the wire harness is equipped with a light-emitting element that illuminates the area around the door, which allows for fewer electrical wires than, for example, a configuration in which the light-emitting element is provided on the door.
- a configuration in which the light-emitting element is provided on the door an electrical wire is required from the vehicle body to the light-emitting element provided on the door, but because the wire harness routed from the vehicle body to the door is equipped with the light-emitting element, the electrical wire path from the vehicle body to the light-emitting element is shorter. This allows for fewer electrical wires.
- the door may be a sliding door.
- the effect of reducing the number of electrical wires is greater than, for example, side doors or tailgates that open and close by pivoting around an axis.
- the length of the electrical wires from the vehicle body to the door tends to be longer with sliding doors.
- the effect of reducing the number of wires is greater.
- the desired position can be illuminated well.
- the illuminated position changes continuously during the opening and closing operation of the sliding door.
- a plurality of separate bare elements may be provided which cover the group of electric wires, are arranged in parallel along the extension direction of the group of electric wires, and are rotatably connected to each other, and the light-emitting member may be fixed to at least one of the plurality of separate bare elements.
- This configuration includes multiple separate bare elements that cover the group of electric wires, are arranged in parallel along the direction in which the group of electric wires extends, and are rotatably connected to each other, and the light-emitting member is fixed to the separate bare elements, making it possible to stabilize the position illuminated by the light-emitting member, for example.
- the group of electric wires were simply covered by a corrugated tube, the wire harness could bend freely at any point in the direction in which it extends, and the bending pattern could change due to deterioration, etc., making the position illuminated by the light-emitting member unstable.
- multiple separate bare elements can maintain a consistent bending pattern even when the sliding door is repeatedly opened and closed, making it possible to stabilize the position illuminated by the light-emitting member.
- each of the plurality of separate bear elements has a U-shaped separate bear body that is open on one side in a direction intersecting the extension direction of the group of electric wires, and a bear cover that is fixed to close the opening of the separate bear body, and the light-emitting member may be fixed to the bear cover.
- the light-emitting member is fixed to the bear cover, so the special member to which the light-emitting member is fixed can be smaller than, for example, a configuration in which the light-emitting member is fixed to the separate bear body.
- the light-emitting member can be fixed simply by changing a small member, for example, manufacturing is easier and costs can be kept down.
- the bear cover may have a light-transmitting portion, and the light-emitting member may be disposed inside the separate bear element so as to illuminate the area around the sliding door from the light-transmitting portion, and may be fixed to the bear cover with a potting material.
- the light-emitting component is placed inside the separate bear element so that it illuminates the area around the sliding door through the light-transmitting portion of the bear cover, and is fixed to the bear cover with potting material, ensuring a stable fixation.
- the potting material also prevents the light-emitting component from becoming wet.
- the light-emitting member may be configured to be positioned outside the vehicle body relative to an entry/exit step provided at a location on the vehicle body corresponding to the sliding door when the sliding door is fully open.
- the light-emitting member is positioned further outward on the vehicle body than the boarding and alighting steps when the sliding door is fully open, allowing for excellent illumination of desired locations, such as below the boarding and alighting steps.
- desired locations such as below the boarding and alighting steps.
- the boarding and alighting steps get in the way, making it difficult to illuminate desired locations, such as below the boarding and alighting steps.
- this configuration allows for excellent illumination of desired locations.
- the wire harness 10 includes a group of electric wires 11 routed from a vehicle body 20 to a sliding door 30 serving as a door in a vehicle.
- the group of electric wires 11 electrically connects a power supply device (not shown) provided in the vehicle body 20 to an electrical device (not shown) provided in the sliding door 30.
- the electrical device may be, for example, a power window motor or a lock actuator, and the power supply device is a device for supplying power to the electrical device.
- the vehicle body 20 has an opening 21 that can be opened and closed by the sliding door 30.
- the vehicle body 20 also has an access step 22 provided in a portion corresponding to the sliding door 30, the access step 22 being located closer to the interior side (upper side in FIG.
- FIG. 1 illustrates an open state in which the sliding door 30 has been slid rearward (leftward in FIG. 1) of the vehicle body 20, leaving the opening 21 open.
- the wire harness 10 comprises a group of electric wires 11, multiple separate bare elements 12, a rubber boot 13, and a light-emitting member 14. Note that Figure 2 illustrates the wire harness 10 in a state in which one separate bare element 12 and the rubber boot 13 have been disassembled. Furthermore, the group of electric wires 11 is made up of multiple electric wires bundled together, but in the figure, the multiple electric wires are not shown and are simply shown together in a simplified format.
- the plurality of separate bare elements 12 are made of a resin material.
- the plurality of separate bare elements 12 cover the electric wire group 11, are arranged side by side along the extending direction of the electric wire group 11, and are connected to each other so as to be rotatable.

- the separate bear main body 15 has a rotating shaft 15a at its first end and a rotatable shaft 15b at its second end to which the rotating shaft 15a can be connected.
- Each of the multiple separate bear main bodies 15 is rotatable relative to the adjacent separate separate bear main body 15 by having the rotating shaft 15a rotatably connected to the rotatable shaft 15b of the adjacent separate separate bear main body 15.
- the multiple separate bear elements 12 in this embodiment are of two types: a first separate bear element 12A and a second separate bear element 12B, which have different rotation angles.
- the first separate bear element 12A is rotatable 15° counterclockwise from the straight state in a first rotation direction, and is rotatable 30° clockwise from the straight state in a second rotation direction.
- the second separate bear element 12B is unable to rotate counterclockwise from the straight state in the first rotation direction, and is rotatable 45° clockwise from the straight state in a second rotation direction.
- the rotation angle of the separate bear element 12 is set by a known structure, such as by changing the shape of the engagement portion with adjacent separate bear elements 12.
- the multiple separate bare elements 12 are made up of a combination of a first separate bare element 12A and a second separate bare element 12B to prevent the wire harness 10 from protruding beyond the protrusion prevention line Z (see Figure 1) toward the vehicle body 20 (upper side in Figure 1).
- the protrusion prevention line Z is a line set for each vehicle model, for example, to maintain a certain distance from the vehicle body 20 along the vehicle body 20.
- a second separate bear element 12B (see FIG. 4) is used in the middle range X of the wire harness 10. This prevents the wire harness 10 from protruding beyond the protrusion prevention line Z toward the vehicle body 20 (upper side in FIG. 1). This prevents the wire harness 10 from colliding with the vehicle body 20.
- a first separate bear element 12A (see FIG. 3) is used in the range of the wire harness 10 other than the middle range X.
- the combination of the first separate bear element 12A and the second separate bear element 12B may be changed as appropriate, for example, depending on the protrusion prevention line Z set for each vehicle model.
- the rubber boot 13 is made of a rubber material. As shown in Fig. 2, the rubber boot 13 is provided to cover the plurality of rotatably connected separate bearing elements 12. The rubber boot 13 is formed to be easily bendable by its bellows structure, allowing the plurality of separate bearing elements 12 to rotate.
- the light emitting member 14 is provided on the wire harness 10 so as to illuminate the periphery of the sliding door 30, specifically, for example, the periphery on the vehicle exterior side of the opening 21 in the vehicle body 20, when the sliding door 30 is in an open state.
- FIG. 1 schematically illustrates an illumination range H of the light emitting member 14.
- the light emitting member 14 of this embodiment is configured so that at least a portion of the light emitting member 14 is located outside the vehicle body 20 (lower side in FIG. 1 ) relative to the step 22 for getting in and out when the sliding door 30 is in a fully open state.
- the light emitting member 14 of this embodiment is configured so that at least a portion of the light emitting member 14 is located outside the vehicle body 20 relative to the opening 21 in the vehicle body 20 when the sliding door 30 is in a fully open state.
- the light emitting member 14 is provided so as to illuminate the area below the step 22 for getting in and out, specifically, the area below the outside of the vehicle body 20 at a position corresponding to the step 22, when the sliding door 30 is in a fully open state.
- the light-emitting member 14 in this embodiment is an LED board on which LED elements are mounted, and a lens 17 is fixed to its outer surface. The light-emitting member 14 is then fixed to the bear cover 16 of the separate bear element 12.
- the bear cover 16 to which the light-emitting member 14 is fixed has a through-hole 16a as a light-transmitting portion.
- a normal bear cover 16 to which the light-emitting member 14 is not fixed does not have a through-hole 16a, and only the bear cover 16 to which the light-emitting member 14 is fixed is a special member with a different product number.
- the through-hole 16a opens diagonally downward.
- the rubber boot 13 has a rubber through-hole 13a as a light-transmitting portion on the rubber boot side at a position corresponding to the through-hole 16a.
- the light-emitting element 14 is disposed inside the separate bare element 12 so as to illuminate the area around the sliding door 30 through the through-hole 16a and the rubber through-hole 13a, and is fixed to the bear cover 16 by the potting material 18.
- the light-emitting element 14 is disposed inside the separate bare element 12 so as to be able to irradiate light through the through-hole 16a and the rubber through-hole 13a, and is fixed to the bear cover 16 by the potting material 18.
- the light-emitting element 14 is disposed so that the lens 17 is disposed within the through-hole 16a.
- the potting material 18 also fixes the power supply line 19 connected to the light-emitting element 14 together with the light-emitting element 14.
- the power supply line 19 forms part of the electric wire group 11 and is connected to a power supply device provided in the vehicle body 20.
- This power supply device supplies power to the light-emitting element 14 via the power supply line 19 when the sliding door 30 is in the open state.
- the power supply device supplies power to the light emitting member 14 in response to, for example, the switching of a courtesy switch (not shown), and supplies power to the light emitting member 14 from the initial timing of the opening operation, before the sliding door 30 is fully open, causing the light emitting member 14 to emit light.
- the wire harness 10 includes the light-emitting member 14 that illuminates the area around the sliding door 30, it is possible to reduce the number of electric wires compared to, for example, a configuration in which the light-emitting member 14 is provided on the sliding door 30. Specifically, for example, in a configuration in which the light-emitting member 14 is provided on the sliding door 30, an electric wire is required from the vehicle body 20 to the light-emitting member 14 provided on the sliding door 30.
- the wire harness 10 routed from the vehicle body 20 to the sliding door 30 includes the light-emitting member 14 midway, the path of the electric wire from the vehicle body 20 to the light-emitting member 14 is shortened. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the number of electric wires. Another effect is that a structure for fixing the light-emitting member 14 to the vehicle body 20 and the sliding door 30 is not required.
- the effect of reducing the amount of electrical wires is greater than, for example, a side door or back door that opens and closes by rotating around an axis.
- the length of the electrical wires from the vehicle body 20 to the door tends to be longer for a sliding door 30 than for a side door or back door, but because some of that wire can be shortened, the effect of reducing the amount of electrical wires is greater.
- the sliding door 30 is provided with a light-emitting element 14
- the illuminated position continues to change as the sliding door 30 is opened and closed, but in contrast, it is possible to illuminate a fixed position, for example, after the initial opening operation. As a result, for example, visibility for the user is improved, making it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.
- the wire harness 10 includes a plurality of separate bare elements 12 that cover the electric wire group 11, are arranged in parallel along the extension direction of the electric wire group 11, and are rotatably connected to each other.
- the light-emitting members 14 are fixed to the separate bare elements 12, which makes it possible to stabilize the position illuminated by the light-emitting members 14.
- the wire harness 10 would be able to bend freely at any point along its extension direction, and the bending pattern could change due to deterioration, etc., resulting in an instability of the position illuminated by the light-emitting members 14.
- the plurality of separate bare elements 12 can maintain a consistent bending pattern even when the sliding door 30 is repeatedly opened and closed, thereby stabilizing the position illuminated by the light-emitting members 14.
- the wire harness 10 is prevented from protruding beyond the protrusion prevention line Z toward the vehicle body 20, which in turn prevents the wire harness 10 from colliding with the vehicle body 20.
- Each of the multiple separate bear elements 12 has a U-shaped separate bear main body 15 that is open on one side in a direction intersecting the extension direction of the electric wire group 11, and a bear cover 16 that is fixed to close the opening of the separate bear main body 15. Furthermore, because the light-emitting member 14 is fixed to the bear cover 16, the special member to which the light-emitting member 14 is fixed can be smaller than, for example, a configuration in which the light-emitting member 14 is fixed to the separate bear main body 15. In other words, because the light-emitting member 14 can be fixed simply by changing a small member, for example, manufacturing is easier and costs can be kept down.
- the light-emitting member 14 is positioned inside the separate bear element 12 so that it illuminates the area around the sliding door 30 through the through-hole 16a of the bear cover 16, and is fixed to the bear cover 16 by the potting material 18, ensuring stable fixation.
- the potting material 18 also prevents the light-emitting member 14 from becoming wet.
- the light-emitting element 14 is positioned on the outside of the vehicle body 20 relative to the boarding and alighting steps 22 when the sliding door 30 is fully open, it can effectively illuminate desired positions, such as below the boarding and alighting steps 22.
- desired positions such as below the boarding and alighting steps 22.
- the light-emitting element 14 were positioned on the vehicle body 20 at a position more inward than the outermost part of the boarding and alighting steps 22, the boarding and alighting steps 22 would get in the way, making it difficult to illuminate desired positions, such as below the boarding and alighting steps 22. In contrast, it is possible to effectively illuminate desired positions.
- the door to which the wire harness 10 is connected is a sliding door 30, but this is not limited to this.
- the door to which the wire harness 10 is connected may be a side door or a back door that opens and closes by rotating around an axis. Even in this case, it is possible to reduce the amount of electrical wiring compared to a configuration in which the light-emitting member 14 is provided on the side door or back door.
- the wire harness 10 includes a plurality of separate bare elements 12 that cover the group of electric wires 11, are arranged in parallel along the extension direction of the group of electric wires 11, and are rotatably connected to each other, but this is not limited to this.

Abstract
