スイッチSW2_jの第2端は、ダイオードD1_jのアノードに接続される。なお、jは、1以上m以下の自然数である。ダイオードD1_1~D1_mの各カソードは、定電位端に接続される。
定電位端には、電源電圧Vccよりも低い定電圧が印加される。定電位端に印加される定電圧は、例えばグラウンド電圧である。
一般に、ダイオードの順方向電圧Vfは、ダイオードの順方向電流Ifと、ダイオードの逆方向飽和電流Isと、熱電圧Vtと、によって、下記(1)式のように表される。

ここで、温度センサ10において、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうちN個をオンにし、スイッチSW2_1~SW2_mのうちM個をオンにする。このとき、温度センサ10の出力電圧すなわちリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refは、定電流Iоと、ダイオードの逆方向飽和電流Isと、M及びNと、熱電圧Vtと、によって、下記(2)式のように表される。

上記(2)式に上記(1)式を代入して変形することによって、リペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refは、次のように表される。

ダイオードの順方向電圧Vfにばらつきがある場合でも、M及びNを調整してリペア変動量ΔVfを調整することで、リペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refを順方向電圧Vfの設計値に近づけることができる。
図2は、リペア変動量ΔVfの特性を示す図である。図3は、M及びNのパターンを示す図である。M=N=12であるときにリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refが順方向電圧Vfの設計値よりも大きい場合は、Nを減らすことでリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refを順方向電圧Vfの設計値に近づけることができる。対して、M=N=12であるときにリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refが順方向電圧Vfの設計値よりも小さい場合は、Mを減らすことでリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refを順方向電圧Vfの設計値に近づけることができる。
リペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refが順方向電圧Vfの設計値に近づくようなM及びNのパターンを選定することで、温度センサ10の出力精度を向上させることができる。
しかしながら、温度センサ10はダイオードを複数有する構成である。ダイオードの1個当たりの面積は、電界効果トランジスタの1個当たりの面積より大きく、スイッチの1個当たりの回路面積よりも大きい。したがって、温度センサ10は、回路面積が大きいという問題を有する。
上記の考察に鑑み、以下では、温度センサの回路面積の増大を抑制しつつ、温度センサの出力精度を向上させることができる新規な実施形態を提案する。
<温度センサ(第1実施形態)>
図4は、温度センサの第1実施形態を示す図である。本実施形態の温度センサ11は、第1調整回路1Aと、第2調整回路2と、単一のダイオードD1と、を有する。

単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流は、第1調整回路1A及び第2調整回路2によって基準電流のN/M倍に調整される。M及びNはそれぞれ1より大きい。なお、基準電流は、後述するスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうち1個をオンにし、後述するスイッチSW3_1~SW3_mのうち1個をオンにした場合に、単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流である。
第1調整回路1Aは、複数のスイッチSW3_1~SW3_mを有する。より詳細には、第1調整回路1Aは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nと、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3と、定電圧生成回路3と、抵抗R1_1~R1_mと、スイッチSW3_1~SW3_mと、を有する。Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nは、同一サイズのトランジスタである。
電源電圧Vccが、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nの各ソースに印加される。
Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nの各ゲートは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1のドレイン及びNチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のドレインに接続される。定電圧生成回路3から出力される定電圧Vconstは、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のゲートに供給される。
抵抗R1_1~R1_mの直列回路は、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のソースと、定電位端との間に設けられる。
抵抗R1_jの第1端はスイッチSW3_jの第1端に接続され、抵抗R1_jの第2端はスイッチSW3_jの第2端に接続される。なお、jは、1以上m以下の自然数である。
第2調整回路2は、複数のスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを有する。スイッチSW1_iの第1端はPチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ2_iのドレインに接続され、スイッチSW1_iの第2端は単一のダイオードD1のアノードに接続される。なお、iは、1以上n以下の自然数である。単一のダイオードD1のアノードは、定電位端に接続される。
定電位端には、電源電圧Vccよりも低い定電圧が印加される。定電位端に印加される定電圧は、例えばグラウンド電圧である。
ここで、温度センサ11は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうちN個をオンにし、スイッチSW3_1~SW3_mのうちM個をオンにする。このとき、単一のダイオードD1のアノード電圧すなわちリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refは、温度センサ10の場合と同様の式になる。
温度センサ11は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを制御することで容易にNを調整することができ、スイッチSW3_1~SW3_mを制御することで容易にMを調整することができる。したがって、温度センサ11は、容易に出力精度を向上させることができる。
温度センサ11は、単一のダイオードD1を有するので、回路面積の増大を抑制することができる。
<温度センサ(第2実施形態)>
図5は、温度センサの第2実施形態を示す図である。本実施形態の温度センサ12は、第1調整回路1Bと、第2調整回路2と、単一のダイオードD1と、を有する。

単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流は、第1調整回路1B及び第2調整回路2によって基準電流のN/M倍に調整される。M及びNはそれぞれ1より大きい。なお、基準電流は、後述するスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうち1個をオンにし、後述するバイアス電圧Vbiasを調整範囲の最小値にした場合に、単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流である。
第1調整回路1Bは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nと、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3と、バイアス電圧調整回路4と、抵抗R1と、を有する。Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nは、同一サイズのトランジスタである。
電源電圧Vccが、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nの各ソースに印加される。
Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1及びQ2_1~Q2_nの各ゲートは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1のドレイン及びNチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のドレインに接続される。バイアス電圧調整回路4から出力されるバイアス電圧Vbiasは、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のゲートに供給される。
抵抗R1は、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のソースと、定電位端との間に設けられる。
第2調整回路2は、複数のスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを有する。スイッチSW1_iの第1端はPチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ2_iのドレインに接続され、スイッチSW1_iの第2端は単一のダイオードD1のアノードに接続される。なお、iは、1以上n以下の自然数である。単一のダイオードD1のアノードは、定電位端に接続される。
定電位端には、電源電圧Vccよりも低い定電圧が印加される。定電位端に印加される定電圧は、例えばグラウンド電圧である。
ここで、温度センサ12は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうちN個をオンにし、抵抗R1を流れる電流が基準電圧の1/M倍になるようにバイアス電圧Vbiasを調整する。このとき、単一のダイオードD1のアノード電圧すなわちリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refは、温度センサ10の場合と同様の式になる。
温度センサ12は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを制御することで容易にNを調整することができ、バイアス電圧Vbiasを調整することで容易にMを調整することができる。したがって、温度センサ12は、容易に出力精度を向上させることができる。
温度センサ12は、単一のダイオードD1を有するので、回路面積の増大を抑制することができる。
<温度センサ(第3実施形態)>
図6は、温度センサの第3実施形態を示す図である。本実施形態の温度センサ13は、第1調整回路1Cと、第2調整回路2と、単一のダイオードD1と、を有する。

単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流は、第1調整回路1C及び第2調整回路2によって基準電流のN/M倍に調整される。M及びNはそれぞれ1より大きい。なお、基準電流は、後述するスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうち1個をオンにし、後述するスイッチSW4_1~SW4_knを全てオンにした場合に、単一のダイオードD1に流れる電流である。
第1調整回路1Cは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1、Q2_1~Q2_n、及びQ4_1~Q4_kと、スイッチSW4_1~SW4_kと、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3と、定電圧生成回路3と、抵抗R1と、を有する。Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1、Q2_1~Q2_n、及びQ4_1~Q4_kは、同一サイズのトランジスタである。
電源電圧Vccが、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタ、Q2_1~Q2_n、及びQ4_1~Q4_kの各ソースに印加される。Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ4_1~Q4_aの各ドレインは、スイッチSW4_aの第1端に接続される。なお、aは、1以上k以下の自然数である。
Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタ、Q2_1~Q2_n、及びQ4_1~Q4_kの各ゲートは、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1のドレイン、スイッチSW4_1~SW4_kの各第2端、及びNチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のドレインに接続される。定電圧生成回路3から出力される定電圧Vcоnstは、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のゲートに供給される。
抵抗R1は、Nチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ3のソースと、定電位端との間に設けられる。
第2調整回路2は、複数のスイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを有する。スイッチSW1_iの第1端はPチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ2_iのドレインに接続され、スイッチSW1_iの第2端は単一のダイオードD1のアノードに接続される。なお、iは、1以上n以下の自然数である。単一のダイオードD1のアノードは、定電位端に接続される。
定電位端には、電源電圧Vccよりも低い定電圧が印加される。定電位端に印加される定電圧は、例えばグラウンド電圧である。
ここで、温度センサ13は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nのうちN個をオンにし、抵抗R1を流れる電流が基準電圧の1/M倍になるようにスイッチSW4_1~SW4_kのうちオンにするスイッチの個数を調整する。このとき、単一のダイオードD1のアノード電圧すなわちリペア後の順方向電圧Vf_refは、温度センサ10の場合と同様の式になる。スイッチSW4_1~SW4_kのうちオンにするスイッチの個数を調整することで、カレントミラー回路のミラー比が調整される。当該カレントミラー回路は、Pチャネル型MOS電界効果トランジスタQ1、Q2_1~Q2_n、及びQ4_1~Q4_kと、スイッチSW4_1~SW4_kと、を有する。
温度センサ13は、スイッチSW1_1~SW1_nを制御することで容易にNを調整することができ、カレントミラー回路のミラー比を調整することで容易にMを調整することができる。したがって、温度センサ13は、容易に出力精度を向上させることができる。
温度センサ13は、単一のダイオードD1を有するので、回路面積の増大を抑制することができる。
<用途>
図7は、車両Xの外観図である。本構成例の車両Xは、不図示のバッテリから出力される電圧の供給を受けて動作する種々の電子機器X11~X18を搭載している。なお、本図における電子機器X11~X18の搭載位置は、図示の便宜上、実際とは異なる場合がある。

電子機器X11は、エンジンに関連する制御(インジェクション制御、電子スロットル制御、アイドリング制御、酸素センサヒータ制御、及び、オートクルーズ制御など)を行うエンジンコントロールユニットである。
電子機器X12は、HID[high intensity discharged lamp]やDRL[daytime running lamp]などの点消灯制御を行うランプコントロールユニットである。
電子機器X13は、トランスミッションに関連する制御を行うトランスミッションコントロールユニットである。
電子機器X14は、車両Xの運動に関連する制御(ABS[anti-lock brake system]制御、EPS[electric power steering]制御、電子サスペンション制御など)を行う制動ユニットである。
電子機器X15は、ドアロックや防犯アラームなどの駆動制御を行うセキュリティコントロールユニットである。
電子機器X16は、ワイパー、電動ドアミラー、パワーウィンドウ、ダンパー(ショックアブソーバー)、電動サンルーフ、及び、電動シートなど、標準装備品やメーカーオプション品として、工場出荷段階で車両Xに組み込まれている電子機器である。
電子機器X17は、車載A/V[audio/visual]機器、カーナビゲーションシステム、及び、ETC[electronic toll collection system]など、ユーザオプション品として任意で車両Xに装着される電子機器である。
電子機器X18は、車載ブロア、オイルポンプ、ウォーターポンプ、バッテリ冷却ファンなど、高耐圧系モータを備えた電子機器である。
電子機器X11~X18はそれぞれ電源回路を有する。例えば、温度センサ11~13のいずれかが電源回路の内部に設けられ、電源回路は温度センサの出力と基準電圧とを比較するコンパレータの出力に基づき過熱保護を行う。また、温度センサ11~13のいずれかが車両Xの外気温度検出センサとして用いられてもよい。また、温度センサ11~13のいずれかが車両Xの車内温度検出センサとして用いられてもよい。
なお、温度センサ11~13の搭載先は、車両に限定されず、産業機器、民生機器等であってもよい。
<その他>
発明の構成は、上記実施形態のほか、発明の主旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更を加えることが可能である。上記実施形態は、全ての点で例示であって、制限的なものではないと考えられるべきであり、本発明の技術的範囲は、上記実施形態の説明ではなく、特許請求の範囲によって示されるものであり、特許請求の範囲と均等の意味及び範囲内に属する全ての変更が含まれると理解されるべきである。
発明の構成は、上記実施形態のほか、発明の主旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更を加えることが可能である。上記実施形態は、全ての点で例示であって、制限的なものではないと考えられるべきであり、本発明の技術的範囲は、上記実施形態の説明ではなく、特許請求の範囲によって示されるものであり、特許請求の範囲と均等の意味及び範囲内に属する全ての変更が含まれると理解されるべきである。
第1~第3実施形態の少なくとも2つは、組み合わされてもよい。例えば、第2実施形態と第3実施形態とが組み合わされる場合、温度センサ13において定電圧生成回路3がバイアス電圧調整回路4に置換される。
第1~第3実施形態では、第1調整回路とダイオードとの間に第2調整回路が設けられているが、第2調整回路とダイオードとの間に第1調整回路が設けられてもよい。
以上説明した温度センサ(11~13)は、 単一のダイオード(D1)と、第1調整回路(1A~1C)と、第2調整回路(2)と、を有し、前記単一のダイオードに流れる電流は、前記第1調整回路及び前記第2調整回路によって基準電流のN/M倍に調整され、前記第1調整回路は、前記基準電流のN/M倍のうち前記基準電流の1/M倍を担うように構成され、前記第2調整回路は、前記基準電流のN/M倍のうち前記基準電流のN倍を担うように構成され、M及びNはそれぞれ1より大きい構成(第1の構成)である。
上記第1の構成の温度センサは、回路面積の増大を抑制しつつ、出力精度を向上させることができる。
上記第1の構成の温度センサにおいて、第2調整回路は、前記単一のダイオードと直列接続され、互いに並列に接続される複数のスイッチ(SW1_1~SW1_n)を含む構成(第2の構成)であってもよい。
上記第2の構成の温度センサは、オンであるスイッチの個数を変更することで容易にNを調整することができる。
上記第1又は第2の構成の温度センサにおいて、前記第1調整回路は、互いに直列に接続される複数の抵抗(R1_1~R1_m)を含む構成(第3の構成)であってもよい。
上記第3の構成の温度センサは、両端が短絡される抵抗の個数を変更することで容易にMを調整することができる。
上記第1~第3いずれかの構成の温度センサにおいて、前記第1調整回路は、バイアス電圧を調整するように構成されるバイアス電圧調整回路(4)と、前記バイアス電圧が制御端子に供給されるように構成されるトランジスタ(Q3)と、を含む構成(第4の構成)であってもよい。
上記第4の構成の温度センサは、バイアス電圧を変更することで容易にMを調整することができる。
上記第1~第4いずれかの構成の温度センサにおいて、前記第1調整回路は、ミラー電流を前記第2調整回路に供給するように構成されるカレントミラー回路(Q1,Q2_1~Q2_n、Q4_1~Q4_k、SW4_1~SW4_k)を含み、前記カレントミラー回路のミラー比が可変である構成(第5の構成)であってもよい。
上記第5の構成の温度センサは、カレントミラー回路のミラー比を変更することで容易にMを調整することができる。
以上説明した車両(X)は、上記第1~第5いずれかの構成の温度センサを有する構成(第6の構成)である。
上記第6の構成の車両は、温度センサの回路面積の増大を抑制しつつ、温度センサの出力精度を向上させることができる。

前記第2調整回路は、前記基準電流のN/M倍のうち前記基準電流のN倍を担うように構成され、
M及びNはそれぞれ1より大きい、温度センサ。 - 第2調整回路は、前記単一のダイオードと直列接続され、互いに並列に接続される複数スイッチを含む、請求項1に記載の温度センサ。
- 前記第1調整回路は、互いに直列に接続される複数の抵抗を含む、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の温度センサ。
